If it was a one off, cash in full. If they're trying to earn goodwill and come back in the future, like the joint that Delta Slim was talking about, take what you can this time.
Only problem with that is
The majority of their customers wouldn't have had it like that even in the future since they were being paid in credits. They would likely ran out of cash before it blew up like that especially since that spot was in the middle of nowhere. It made sense from a business perspective, but the wrong city to do it.

That's also not getting into the naiveness of believing Hogwood when everyone else in that building would have told them otherwise. /SPOILER]

Genuinely one of the best times I’ve had in the theater in a long time. Coogler/MBJ/Ludwig stay putting their foot down on Hollywood’s neck. I was unfamiliar with O’Connell beforehand but he got a new fan out of me, homie killed it as Remmick.

The garlic test had me feeling like I was watching Carpenter’s The Thing for the first time, I see you Ryan. :salute:

The way Hailee was lookin’ in this, man….

She was dropping some lines that had me like

Cool you mentioned Ludwig. I thought some of the music he did in Tenet was a bit busy, but he SHINED in Oppenheimer. Same in this film

Right? :leon:

I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. I left the theater like Damn... that was a good MFing movie. Like, beginning to end. I fukked with all the cast. From Cornbread to Smoke and Stack.

Everyone did their thing.

When the vampires started praying with preacher boy in the water and remmick was baptizing him I now think Coogler may have been alluding to the fact that slave owners and klansmen were also "christians" but weaponized the religion and still carried out evil on black folks while claiming to follow the Bible.

The movie didn’t gel well (drama/horror) imo but it was so well put together that I had a good time

7.5/10

Like I loved the ideas of stories/music having currency to vampires, but the fact the vampires just became blood thirsty manipulators until the story needed those connections to matter kind of undercut the strongest emotional theme.

The third act is a mess tension wise. There’s a fire in a wood building and then it’s gone. No idea what time is until sunrise( it’s the 30s so everyone has a watch)

The ending felt like a reverse Django unchained.

Music is great. Actors are great. Direction is good but the script undercuts it.

I noticed this too but I got the idea that he was being brought into this community in a twisted way.

It was noticeable that all the vampire lore held except the cross kills cause this wasn’t a matter of religions demons. It’s just a tale/story old as music itself just good and bad of humanity itself.
