Im not a huge fan of tannehill, but that video doesnt really illustrate the point well. some of the balls are good enough variety, a couple of throws shouldnt have been made at all (ie first one), but overall doesnt seem out of the ordinary for an average qb deep throwing :manny:

if thats lowlights for my qb throwing deep, I can live with it

After watching the video I tend to agree with this post

It's absurd you can disagree with every point without offering any rebuttal and still maintain credibility on this issue. What do you define as an "open" receiver in the NFL? What do you call "seperation"? I think we need a reasonable understanding of your thought process so that we know whether your points have any bearing.
Ive already explained why I disagreed. tbh no offense, I dont really care about 'maintaining credibility' in your eyes breh :manny:

not sure what do you want me to say when I see a safety clearly in control of a post route and then I read someone saying safety is out of position and a good throw gets the ball there...whereas if Im a coach and peyton manning/brady/arod is trying that throw, Im slapping the shyt out of them. no NFL qb should be attempting to make that throw.

same as I see a CB get a decent position and keeping up with a WR and I see it described as 'wide open'

I dont wanna get in into argument and youre a good poster, hence why I just wanted leave it at that :manny:

a receiver is 'wide open' when he has 1.5 to two plus steps on a corner. a one on one matchup against a top corner should be ignored and put at the bottom of progressions, always. unless theyre calvin johnson, aj green, anquan boldin, type of strong ass guys who can catch jumpballs and/or wrestle away position

Flacco and Kaepernick don't have problems throwing deep. Ryan is a savant in the mid to intermediate range. Big Ben didn't either when Mike Wallace was his best weapon. I believe in Tannehill but let's not think his problem throwing deep shouldn't be addressed.
and yet one can make the same video showing flacco and kaep throwing to fast targets and overthrowing/underthrowing them. and a guy like flacco is considered one of the best, if not THE best deep ball thrower in the league.

guy is wide open.... this is a TD right ? NOPE

thats the main problem. the video shows lowlights, ie around 15 instances. it doesnt say shyt. thats why highlights and lowlights videos are utter fukking trash when trying to evaluate players.

show me a 20+ yard deep pass video which includes all attempts, like I used with matt ryan. it shows all attempts, fails AND successes.

again, my main point is that the video doesnt prove anything. Im not arguing that tannehill is good at deep ball even. my point is that you literally can take any non-elite qb and make a lowlight video that will make them look bad. I didnt see anything out of the norm in the video; Ive seen many qbs fukk up worse than that. its not anything out of the ordinary. the best deep throwers have a lot of fukkups on their deep throws.

As far as the overthrows and underthrows from Tannehill, he never really had a chance to work on it in his rookie season. He had no speed, no outside threat, nothing in 2012 but Brian Hartline and Davone Bess. You can't just magically expect for a 2nd year QB with a laughable OL and no run game to connect with Wallace like Ben(10 year vet) did.

If the new offensive coordinator (Philly's previous QB coach) can't fix some of his issues, pocket presence/deep ball accuracy/checkdowns, then Tannehill is getting thrown in the bushes along with Joe Philbin. I'm optimistic though and see him having a 26 TD 13 INT year.

I always thought Tannehill was mediocre, and they'll release Wallace in a season or two with that salary of his.

tan will be fine, I just attribute it to growing pains. Wallace was overthrown/underthrown a bunch last year, but I can find plenty of speedsters who that happened to as well.

I do find myself wondering how much longer it will take him to pick up the nuances of being an NFL QB tho, considering he hasn't been playing the position that long.

it is when your other wrs arnt fast. watch how much the eagles offense suffers this year. teams werent able to stack the deck to stop the run because they always had to keep a safety over desean. that extra safety is in the box this year

I would love for teams tot ry that against us this season and just watch Maclin fly past them :russ:

For him to be producing at the level that he is now is pretty good compared to guys who have been playing QB since they were kids. Its like he's almost there but not enough for us to be competitive.
