This release kinda confirms my thinking about hiphop fans in general in 2018... Real fans of the art form are rare and now a dying breed.

People aren't fans of the genre anymore, they're fans of their artists. I always laugh at people that go so hard to trash new artists and claim there's no new artists/music being put out that's worth a damn. The times have changed, how we consume content, how you come to find out about it etc, has all changed. With the emergence of Social Media, people typically group think and must associate content with something/someone else

This album is well put together, and hits on themes/topics that get FAR higher praise when they are spoken from more known artists.

Is KOD really superior to this Care For Me album?


Doesn't matter, but since Cole's fanbase is so huge, the narrative is how real and deep his project is... but in theory, if you fukk with the themes/topics and are a HIPHOP fan, you should appreciate an album like THIS, which dropped prior to KOD. But like I said, real hiphop fans don't really exist like that anymore
