lol I only speak for myself but I think talking about systemic racism on a tv show where there’s a group of puppets that came to life to be fighters is mad hilarious. This stuff is mindless low level entertainment, it’s not that important to the world.

And nobody ever asks the real questions in these conversations. Are black wrestlers being paid the same wages as their non black peers? Are black wrestlers being afforded equal living and work conditions as their non black peers? Do they feel comfortable at work? This is the important stuff that’s actually consequential to black people in society.

But Instead, these conversations are always centered around trivial stuff like people losing scripted fights. It’s so unserious. We’re talking about societal racism based on a scripted show where a zombie shoots lightening from his hands while his father carries his ashes in a golden urn. nikkas kufis on way too tight

This is disengenious

As wrasslin boom periods are directly relatsd to black ringsports character draws.

Vince liked them, but Shad kept hear on them. This from Jericho podcast like 10 years ago.

Jericho asks JTG about the heat that Cryme Tyme had with Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. Cade and Murdoch pulled a rib on JTG and Shad during a match. Shad bumped the ref following the match. Shad and JTG were released by the WWE due to the incident. Jericho comments that Shad was behind much of the heat Cryme Time received during their WWE tenure. Vince was very disappointed with Cryme Tyme, and thought they had so much potential, but he had to release them due to bumping a ref.

Shad and JTG were gone from the WWE for about six months before being brought back. Jericho asks JTG if he knew why the WWE brought Cryme Tyme back. JTG says that he and Shad were over and in a good spot before they were fired. JTG also comments that he knew that Vince really liked Cryme Tyme. He remembers that he had heard that Vince didn’t like performers to look in the camera during their promos. JTG went to Vince, and asked him whether he could look into the camera because that what rappers like to do, show off for the cameras, and Vince told him to have fun and do what he wanted to do.

Jericho asks JTG as the heat continued whether it was things that Shad was doing that was generating all the heat. Jericho specifically mentions the braiding story concerning Shad. JTG recalls that he and Shad wanted to get their hair braided. JTG decided to wear a rag, and worry about his hair while the WWE was on tour in Europe. Shad got a runner to find a hair braider. Shad then had the braider braid his hair backstage. Shad and JTG were supposed to be watching the monitors during matches. JTG and Shad were both punished for Shad’s actions, and more heat was generated. JTG then recalls another story involving Shad. Shad got a nice suit, and wanted to impress the higher ups. He wore the suit backstage one day. Triple H came up to Shad, and told him that he was looking sharp today. Shad then told Trips, that he guesses this is what it feels like to sell out. Triple H was confused by Shad’s response, and looked at JTG for guidance. JTG says that he still has a good relationship with Shad to this day.

Wrestling is not important to society

The advancement of my people is not contingent on whether Carmelo Hayes is written to lose a fight on a tv show

It’s low level entertainment. Thats it.

Very. I’m one of the few posters on this site that gladly shows my face

Sohh.
How are you dismissing black people's expression in wrasslin like that.
When the entire gateway to how ypu or i and anyone in general. Is all from the boom.
associated with black ringsports figures.

Chu tweak'n breh.

That’s absolutely not what I’m doing my brother.

What I’m pointing out is the fact that things like equal pay, an inclusive workplace, equal living opportunities etc. for these said “athletes” is rarely a topic here. Do these people feel safe at work? This is stuff that directly relates to systemic racism.

But instead some of you focus on trivial stuff like Bianca Belair being in a tag team or Carmelo Hayes losing to a schoolboy pin. To ya’ll, that’s racism. I find it kinda silly. Wrestling is the lowest form of entertainment on tv. It’s a male soap opera. Y’all discuss it like it’s something deeply important when it’s just low iq entertainment

Like.. I don’t think it’s some grand gesture of racism because Jey Uso took a picture with Lil Wayne. It’s so trivial. Lol but that’s me. If you feel different, I salute you.
