I live in Decatur, Illinois. I'll NEVER have to worry about this. shyt, we aint even got 80k residents here:heh:

Dont Jinx yourself breh... I've been living in queens my whole life... That's how it started out in bk too. places with dirt cheap property they'll come within maybe 5 years 10 but it will happen. Jamaica is trying to stave them off but I see these mini condo's going up they about to be trying to force us out too.. Even if we don't sell property taxes fluctuate and we still gotta pay those shyts. :stopitslime:

Southeast Queens will be untouched tho. Too close to crowded and loud JFK and too far from any subway stop.

Yeah man it's slowly moving into that downtown brooklyn type of situation my eyes have been open for the longest. :coffee:

Weirdly enough that building their construction next to the airtrain hasnt been built yet the lot has sat empty there for a long time...

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
4500 a month is the median? Holy mackeral.

Gotta make at least 11-12 racks a month (after taxes) to live cozy there.

Me and my girl flying in to SF tomorrow and we just booked the hotel a month ago, and since its been 6 years since i've been back... didn't recall the telly rates going for such an exponential amount of loot. Shat. (3-400 a nite in the city my union square... and these are, while updated and modernized in the interior... are some old ass prehistoric buildings).

Make 40 bucks an hour and still struggle in The Bay brehs.

Turtle Island to DXB
Im trying to get a contract out of the state right now, i make alright money right now but i do want to get a house soon, and one that is not a shack for a mil.
There is always Treasure Island. :troll: California is expensive but wouldn't trade it for the world and not too many cities as educated, sophisticated, and attractive as the Bay. Better caliber people relocate since its financially inaccessible unlike Atlanta, Houston(sans Sugarland/Katy) where everyone and their baby daddy and metropolitan rejects flock which brings a lot of bad elements along with black excellence. Not too many States have a Prop 13 where you know your property tax will remain the same vs. states back East where you find yourself retired or crippled on fixed income and can't even pay increasing property taxes once you own the title. I wouldn't want to waste my young adult life back East or South, great place to retire for cheap once you sell your million dollar home or rent it.

Don't know what industry you are in but if you are tech with no major attachments consider whoring yourself out on expat assignments for 2-5 years, first 90K of your salary is tax exempt, housing covered. Would stack and wait for the next inevitable collapse. Oakland Hills is not crazy expensive and best view imo.

I love visiting the SF but the last few times I looked at prices for a plane ticket and hotel out there:huhldup: It would be cheaper to just take a trip to Europe.

im not from there but im over there a lot. maybe 3 days a week. i just don't see it happening. im not trying to shyt on your opinion especially bc you're from out there and see more than me. but jamaica, north or south, isn't gonna be a hot gentrified place. despite the LIRR access its still way too far from the city. matter fact i took the train into the city from there this morning and with the normal morning delays it took me 1.5 hours to get to work. starbucks doesn't mean anything. a lot of people come to that area for the court and the starbucks is right there. im with you in spirit but i just don't know. CACs wanna give up their cars and move to the city and shyt. if you don't have a whip out there... it's real tough IMO.
