It was the same thing down here.. the city of Inglewood had the Showtime Lakers, and Gretzky playing for the Kings and they never built sh*t around the Forum. Not one single bar, hotel, restaurant or anything. Downtown LA was a ghost town ten years ago and the proposed Staple Center project was laughed at and panned. Man Staples and downtown LA is a monster now.. all jump started by Staples Center. Bars, restaurants, new hotel highrises, clubs, lounges, etc.. everywhere in all directions and now its spreading down to USC. I see what the Warriors are doing. Sacramento wants to do the same thing as well

that's why im trying to move to LA and live in downtown. the rents are cheap compared to the rape in SF and the bay area

i swear i need to get a transfer or a new job and im gtfo

Yeah you guys got NY-Manhattan type rent prices. I heard it spread to Oakland.. that's why I thought some of that tech money was spreading out to the East Bay

except there's only a 2 week overlap of the 2 regular seasons and MLB and NBA work hard to not schedule both games on the same date for home games. it's a logistical nightmare.

but yeah, it's economically a no brainer to move the team to mission bay. you have more public transit lines hitting that area vs. bart and amtrak (expensive) along with the worst freeway (880) in the bay area like in Oakland.

i was at a Dub game in Oakland where they always post up, along the overpass walkway from the bart station to the coli and the messican hot dog pan handlers were all running with their carts towards us yelling "OPD! OPD!" one dude tried to take the walkway down towards amtrak only to get stopped lol... this was in december and every game i went to afterwards, no problems for the hot doggers. guess they paid off the cops haha

SF> Oakland, i doubt any of the warriors players actually live IN oakland, i know steph and david lee live in downtown SF already. it makes sense. nobody wants to live in or play in oakland.
i dont care either way if they change the name to SF warriors, but i think it would alienate some of the inferiority complex having types in the east bay.

you're doing too much, people born and raised in the bay don't covet SF like you're letting on. the only people who treat SF like it's manhattan are all of out of towners who have gentrified the fukk outta everything. i don't think i have one friend or family member from here who runs around with a chip on their shoulder b/c they can't live in SF ....and the nightlife in SF is shyt like the rest of the bay, but at least there are black spots in oakland.

and in general, these athletes are living in fremont, san jose, blackhawk, the oakland hills, danville, lafayette, ahterton, just as much as dowtown SF, stop it. you acting like playing in oakland mean being miles away from civilization as if this green bay.

We all know a new arena in SF will be piff. expensive piff but piff nevertheless. There's nothing around the Coliseum. Everybody wants the restaurants and bars across the street to hang out at before and after the game. Its crazy that Oakland might be losing three teams though in the near future. There's nothing in Downtown/Lake Merritt area to get something going?
