yeah, its hard but not impossible.

and they spent half a billion on destiny :stopitslime: thats cheaper than it cost to develop infamous ss, gta v, driveclub, batman AND uncharted.

lol that half a billion isn't just for 1 game...that's for the whole franchise....

i dont know why you make excuses for these devs trying to make their bottom line  i understand small companies cant produce something of that scale w/o going bankrupt. but larger companies that have the resources yet spend more on marketing are the only reason its not happening.

the whole thing is a joke. games dont require a lot of markettng, the work will speak for itself.

But you just can't throw money at the game at make it create itself. It would take pretty powerful hardware to create and run a game engine that could handle the shooting, driving, dialogue, and graphical detail that you're asking for.

This would take years upon years to create and by the time it would be close to completion, we'd be scrapping this generation of consoles.

arkham city seems to already have more of that than not, its not as hard as you guys are making it :beli:

instead of devs pumping out 5 yrs of military space shooters, i do believe we'll get a few gems like this in the upcoming future.

lol how am I making excuses by pointing out that half a billion is for the whole franchise, not just 1 game?....

also, you underestimating the work that goes into these games to specialize something like the fighting of the arkham series, the choices in mass effect, the cinematic missions of uncharted, etc., and make it a memorable product....i mean, those games arent the first to do things like you mentioned, but it's a reason those games are known for those things....those are the things the devs focused on for those particular games and they put out damn good products...

...what it sounds like to me is you want a perfect game...there is technically no such thing....so i'd rather devs focus and specialize on 1 or 2 things for a game to keep putting out damn good products, rather than trying to be a master of everything and put out mediocre games....

:mindblown:There isn't a lick of driving or shooting in Arkham City. There weren't any dialogue options and the game was linear and had a single ending. I don't get your point.

whats stopping devs from making joint efforts like tales from borderlands? and nah, the perfect game is something like no mans sky + mass effect + dead space mixed together :ahh:

besides fighting, what else does arkham do that you asked for?...we haven't driven shyt in the series yet, so you don't know how that's gonna be...we don't make choices, have dialogue, nor shoot shyt....now, it does have scale and graphics, but every game does nowadays...devs have to purposely make a game small and/or look bad....also, it has a damn good story....but the gameplay mechanic they chose to focus on was the fighting, which they've gotten down pact....and i'm good with that...

i meant arkham knight*

good graphics, good story, driving, open world, great fighting mechanics. we still dont know how the missions will be. i assume its going to be a lot more varied than before.

the same thing that's stopping fox, sony, and marvel movie studios from including marvel characters in crossover movies: money...companies don't want to share profits...

But I can promise you the driving won't be anywhere comparable to a racing sim like Driveclub or Forza. The story in all likely-hood will still be linear with no dialogue options and of course the fighting mechanics will be great, that the focus of the developers of the franchise.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
i think devs get too into their own games

like skyrim.. which is top 3 OWG to me

but damn.. think of the time and energy spent on having 15 minute convos with ALL those people.. all the backstories.. all the books that can be read with stories.

nobody listening to all that.. nobody is remembering it all

that type of stuff could be cut in half, and use that extra space for more of anything.. better graphics.. different missions.. different things going on

gta is the same... nobody is calling friends to go play darts.. that shyt is still in 5... that could have been 5-6 other missions, or throwing the gym back into it... instead of taking the time to program that in

now i know it doesn't directly relate like that.. but you do have to devote time, energy and money into creating all that

not only that, but then the other franchises that use a lesser template would cease to generate a profit. Which, lets be real, is the only thing these companies care about.... How much money can be made as cheaply as possible. It's no coincidence that's all these open would games use the same shyt template: GTA, assassins creed, watchdogs, far cry, even tomb raider got in the game by offering silly side missions.

it's all a game bruh lol.
