No, we messed up when we let the Lions get Alim McNeil the pick before us. He was the guy out scouts wanted.
If we get McNeil, we don't draft Davis the next yr.
Dean has been solid this yr. He's not pro bowl caliber, but he's a solid starter. I think he will get better as he gets more in game experience.
I wish we used Nolan Smith a bit differently. We need to scheme him to get 1:1 with TEs or backs. I don't think he's a straight up pass rusher, he's a chess piece.
I’m sick of this nikka Hurts just like everyone else but there’s no way he’s the #1 issue with this team.
1. It’s clearly Sirianni - for his whole tenure we’ve had a front running culture that exposes itself time after time. Despite what they say, it’s clear the players don’t respect him, the team is never prepared and we constantly see questionable game management and decisions in general. There’s never any adjustments either. He’s the ultimate front runner, cheerleading when players do dumb shyt (CJGJ taking off his helmet and almost erasing a huge positive play) I could go on about this CAC.
2. Howie/Laurie - As great as Howie is at times with moves, he just doesn’t do well with the defensive side of the ball. The other day I read of the last 10 or so years, only ONE of his draft picks made the pro bowl (Josh Sweat) and that was because Bosa was injured. Furthermore, if you’re in the Philly area it’s not really a secret Howie/Laurie as well as the analytics team (run by Jeff’s 30 y/o son) has their reigns on player personnel and even types of plays called. Hell they’ve been in love with this shytty bend but don’t break defensive philosophy that has burned us time after time. You look at our playcalling at times when it looks like it has no purpose? guess what? that’s the analytics team chiming in… no one wants to be the guy to defend themselves when they go left when the analytics team tells them to go right.
3. Hurts - We don’t need the nikka to be a top 5 quarterback just not a dumbass. Until he does that any semblance of positivity will go away. He’s supposed to be the deodorant to cover up the shyt smell and unfortunately he’s been unable to do that
That’s not the issue. It’s the scheme. They said baker averaged 2 seconds to throw. This scheme is easy to beat if you have a QB that can hit a short route because we play off to avoid giving up the big play. We are going to get dink and dunked just like the last two years because they refuse to recognize these guys are starting QBs for a reason.
