Baphomet isnt or at least wasnt considered to be Satan. The key feature of Baphomet in regards to its relation to humanity is its androgynous nature which symbolizes (or is supposed to) the unity of opposites and fertility. Since it was a symbol of fertility, thats how it got slowly perverted (pun?) into being a symbol primarily representative of lust. Lust is one of the 7 deadly sins so it has further been related to Satan since it is essentially turning a sin into a pillar of a faith and its believers are thus worshiping an entity that is inherently sinful in nature. Also, its common depictions of sitting on a throne and being a horned beast made it obvious to many to directly denote it as Satan. With that said, its worshipers nowadays typically call themselves Satanists so the equivalency isnt totally off-base really.
Lucifer directly being Satan is also an inaccurate deduction from scripture and literature. Lucifer was an angel that fell from grace because it wouldnt put humans above other angels nor bow to them in any way. Lucifer lead a rebellion against Heaven with some other rogue angels and then they were cast out of Heaven. Lucipher is typically described as God's Favorite Angel until he disobeyed. Historically, many Christians dont believe that Angels roam the Earth freely..instead they may or may not intervene on occasion from Heaven...because of this, it was deduced that when Lucifer was cast out of Heaven he went to Hell. It is unclear if Lucifer became the King of Hell or even a demon necessarily. Ole boy could just be down there imprisoned for eternity or just chillin. His physical descriptions never were anything close to descriptions of Satan or Baphomet and I personally don't think Lucipher would willing change his appearance because he was so full of himself and was described as being quite glorious in appearance while in Heaven. Furthermore, there is generally a distinction between Luciferianism and Satanism and the few Luciferians that are out there make a stink about it.

The general reasoning (my assumption) from his post is that Satan made Eve eat from the Tree of Knowledge. Science is more knowledge based than religion so that is probably why he said said that. Atheists clearly dont worship Lucifer/Satan though otherwise they would be Luciferians or Satanists.
