This is the first post in this thread made by an adult.

Anyone who knows how to manage money knows that you lose money when cash is sitting in a savings account when you also have high interest debt like student loans. Her students loans belong to both of them. This 100% should’ve been discussed with her husband before paying the student loans, but this was perhaps the most fiscally responsible thing she could’ve done.

Also, I’m havig a hard time believing that the wife only contributed 5k. If she was paying bills (rent utilities etc) and therefore freeing up money for him to put into the savings account then that counts. I have a similar arrangement with my hubby. He saves his check and I use mine to pay all the bills.

Again, she should’ve spoken to hubby about the money before taking action to pay down the debts, but this isn’t something you divorce for. If he believes she’s cheating or spending money recklessly then that’s a different issue.
It is. It’s theft.
Either you both agree to put the money toward something, or it doesn’t go toward that.
No ifs, ands, or buts.

And fiscal responsibility, this is not.
Unless they’re private loans, the order is bills > matched 401k > Roth IRA > student loans > emergency fund

What else can you do but divorce. If she's willing to do that she could fukk someone else bareback and bring sti's for your ass.dump her
Or worse...

Get pregnant by another man while in the marriage and be legally bound to be financially responsible for said child.

First thing I'm doing is cofirming that the money was spent on the student loan. The findings would determine whether I call an ambulance or strangle her when she's at the bottom of the stairs.

45k :damn:
fukk around and he'll discover a text that reads:

"That's why I fukks wit' you. Give me a month and you'll get that 45k back, plus an extra 15k(dat pwussy worth way more than that). I gotta take this trip outta state. Can you get me a rental? I need u to meet me at Enterprise on the 26th"

Emergency fund >matched 401K > Roth IRA > bills >debt (including student loans)

Always pay yourself first. I wouldn't even count the retirement because that is usually pretax, but with the net pay, pay yourself first.
