Thread is hilarious.
I never seen my 77 YO dad cry but if I did you can be sure that im not going to go put my hand on his shoulder and ask whats the matter :mjlol:

Would just leave and pretend that I never saw. If he wants to tell me he will do so in his own time.

Both of HIS parents passed and he was somber no doubt, but no tears. This man was raised in a rural Nigerian village in the colonial 40s and somehow rose to graduating from college in Canada before fighting in the Nigerian civil war where he was shot in the leg, before starting a business that's lasted 40 years and still ticking. My over privileged self would have no words to comfort such a man anyway.

Nah, crying in front of your family is selfish.

Its your duty as a father to be strong for others and let them know everything will be ok.
Crying is putting yourself and your own emotions first.
