At this point, dude should be working behind the scenes. Become an A&R like Jeezy.

But if he has a loyal fanbase, dude can still drop music independently.

TI's been too inconsistent for the past decade...starting with TI vs TIP which was a complete clusterfukk of an album. I liked Trouble Man alot when it came out but he really haven't had an album that was great from start to finish since KING.

T.I vs T.I.P - Wack
Paper Trail - Dope
No Mercy - Wack
Trouble Man - Dope
Paper work - Wack
Da Nic EP - Decent
Us Or Else - Decent
Dime Trap - Decent

Like I said in the Dime Trap thread...TI is in the same spot 50 is in where he still relevant in the culture but not musically. He's a legend and already made his Mark but his days at top of the heap are over. It's a hard pill to swallow especially for a braggidous rapper like TI but he had a run that most rappers would dream of.

it was weak tho, and most of his o.g. fanbase had already moved on. when that happens, youre on borrowed time. ive seen artists sell twice or three times as much as paper trail, and get hit hard within the next year or two.

I knew the next album was gonna be a bust if he didn't have any candy-land singles to carry the sales.

he was really done in 2007 bro. he was a heavily-pushed artist, so the masses didn't catch on until 1 or 2 albums later.
If this aint the truth.

Paper Trail had at least 4 giant singles...the followup couldn't possibly match that and he actually put out an album worse than expected :snoop:

Creatively, he's been done since 07. TI Vs TIP only worked as one song on a far better album.

Critically, he's been done since 2010.

Done as a top selling artist? Or done making good music? Two different discussions

T.I’s reckless lifestyle was great for his career not so much for his well being. He became way to accessible with his reality tv shows , Twitter vocabulary and doing instagram pronouncing.

When he was in trouble man he was missed ...

And ya’ll gotta chill out on calling TI a rat when nobody he “allegedly” ratted came forward and said he ratted.

I’m sure when he went to the pen they had a paper party for proof.

A lot of people are in their feelings. Regardless of when you personally stopped checking for T.I., T.I. was still very much relevant as late as at least 2010. No Mercy was lackluster, but some of the songs leading into what was supposed to be King Uncaged (the album he was dropping before he violated and went back to jail), were a pretty big deal. "I'm Back" was a big record for T.I. Then he dropped "Got Your Back". He also had some features that were big.

Trouble Man was the last T.I. album that made any real noise. Since then, it's been hit or miss, with more misses than hits. He's at that place in his career where only his fans will care.
