They always do that when it’s Black ppl involved. Definitely some anti-blackness. Many festivals experience growing pains when they first start out

Every time bro. The thing is, if this was just someone in Charlotte or Birmingham putting together a local "mixer"/networking event with black professionals and local business leaders as speakers, no one would be so critical. This a similar concept just on a grand scale. It shows there's a thinking in our community that we can't get to a certain level without "something being up."

sad that yall want to see this platform fail. smh
You going there to watch motivational speakers. This is not class it's not a course and people need to stop falling for these things. These people are going from podcasts to convention centers with the same shyt. You heard it one you heard it before

There's someone in the comments section saying it was more like a concert than a conference and they learned nothing. Selling lessons been a trend now for a while since MLM scams died down. The issue is a lot of these people are not providing any real knowledge they just tell people they are rich and you should listen to them. But the information is nothing you can't access without paying them to speak. And when they do break down how they are actually getting money a lot of em end up just being scammers.

People think just showing up will lead to profits. They see the money spent and time at the event then think should lead to instant results. They fail to realize, now you need to work the room and make them ideas connect with others.

Networking events are for professionals who usually already have something going.. these people are selling be your own boss dreams to dreamers and using celebrities for bait.

Man, i hate that “scam” is thrown around so liberally man. Large events, with guest (especially celebrities), will have delays. I been to several event with delays. Each eventwill get better and also with the amount of people showing up there should’ve been lots of networking opportunities. What most people fail to acknowledge is is most people have zero networking ability. That’s not on the event to help with that. They provided the people, at a venue, looking to do the same thing.

They always do that when it’s Black ppl involved. Definitely some anti-blackness. Many festivals experience growing pains when they first start out
EYL has given spotlight to a lot of scammers over the years via their platform. Greg Parker, Him 500, and Jay Morrison to name a few. They're reputation now is one associated with scamming culture unfortunately.

But, how are they scamming? They had reputable names at the event. They literally had Robert F Smith there, They had panel speakers and a host of ther celebs/business people. That’s what the event was about. They had a packed event of people looking to network too. They never hid the cost of the event. Where was the scam?
Earn your leisure have been accused of scamming. It's their event, I'm not saying the guests are scammers. If y'all don't see the game being played then I can't knock the hustle.... :hubie:

Same games different players pimping hopes and dreams.

Brehs keep talking about networking. Networking what? The average attended is looking to start a business not in business... That's their demo. Hence the scam. They sell useless information and use celebrities to look legitimate. The celebs get paid for speaking. The value gained is not what is advertised. You won't leave there with any better idea of how to actually "earn your leisure" that's the issue. Watching Puff or Steve Harvey talk about how they made it is something you can see in an interview without paying for a conference that sells itself more like a course..

That can be said for a lot of platforms man. You can’t over look the amount of reputable people they had on their panel. They had fukk Robert F Smith and also Don Peeples. They’re not meeting with just anybody. You focus on that and over looking the bigger picture.

But, this is majority if not all events. I been to a lot of them and I met several people. Some were great connections and some were bs. The people in one venue is the network. You get a ticket to a packed venue, you wrk the room and see connections are gain. That’s it.

They can have Jesus Christ on the podcast and it wouldn't make a difference. If they keep inviting and promoting scammers on their platform, they're going to be considered as a podcast that promotes scammers :manny:

At this point they need to do a better job of protecting their reputation.

"Attendees have also voiced concerns about the quality of the content presented at Invest Fest. Expected to provide attendees with actionable investment strategies and insights from industry experts, the festival instead showcased speakers who were late or lacking the depth of knowledge expected from such an event. Many attendees left sessions feeling unsatisfied and questioning whether their time and resources were well spent."

look at the comments from people who attended. Y'all really don't see the scam? 😂

They look legitimate by inviting.accomplished business people. They themselves pretend to be accomplished business people. They sell tickets and pitch it like a learning engagement. Instead it's like motivational speaking event.

If people can't start to see through these scams especially when a lot of them prey on behs then the scammers will keep eating.

That's my last post in here.
