It's not shytting on him if it's true.
Come on man.

Jeter in 2001 had ONE great season. And that was in 1999.

And Jeter was on a much better team than Alex was. And Alex was carrying bad teams playing way better than Jeter ever did since 1996.
Whether its true or not is up to debate, but he shyt on Derek Jeter, his friend, who in 2001 was already "The Man" in NYC and the face of the New York Yankees.

He deserves every bit of shade he received because of it, and Jeter was right to distance himself from him going forward.

You don't throw your mans under the bus like that as a regular cat. But to do it as professional baseball players, and then join your mans team and expected to be loved and serenaded as well? This is an example of that "Alex Rodriguez lacks self-awareness" shyt...

Disagree.

:ehh:

I think Jeter should have buried the hatchet and accepted Alex's apology (Alex apologized to Derek immediately after making the statement and before it went to print).

Derek still acted like a bytch for years after. And many have noted there was a sort of rift among teammates in the locker room, especially with Posada's bytch ass.

Not the kind of thing a leader who is supposed to unite his clubhouse would do.

Only athlete of his generation to not catch an L off the field/court...

The biggest envy of wack nikkas that can't get quality p*ssy (plenty examples in this thread)...

King of NY...

GOAT Yankee SS...

Mr clutch...

El Capitan... :salute:

Don't forget to add, Boston's bytch. Once the Yankees could not buy more rings like they did with their 90s teams, he became Boston's bytch.:blessed:.

He's responsible for a lot of people in hollywood getting herpes. Fake ass goody two shoes who was responsible for most of the toxicity in the Yankees clubhouse when Arod came over in 04.

I say this as a die hard Yankee fan. :dame:

But he had a very high baseball IQ and was never caught up in the steroid allegations.

I love Jeter but Bernie should've been the captain. Only Yankee that was there when the Yankees weren't shyt and became a dynasty and the first Yankee to make Steinbrenner outbid himself and it worked (threatened to leave to Boston and put him on the hot seat about leaving at the parade:russ:)

This is the most underrated thing about Jeter. Not only this but that line in The Other Guys about Mark Wahlberg accidentally shooting Jeter instead of Arod was fukked up. How can you be a part of that movie and let a line about your teammate getting shot make the final cut but you're the great respectable Derek Jeter.

2009 Yankees 100% Arod's team.

I know, right? Such a "great leader" yet there he was (both he and Joe Torre) bullying the best player on the team. And let's not forget how he refused to move to another position even though he was a shytty defensive SS. :dame:

He was passive aggressive and sanctimonious as hell. Always had a stick up his ass, I thought.

Remember back in '09, he was complaining about Nick Swisher bringing fun and life to the clubhouse and then made it own that wasn't down with the pie in face shyt. :martin:

Great (and slightly overrated) player but he was never a favorite of mine.

Yankee fan here but fukk Derek Jeter.
They came out with this Core Four bullshyt and put Jeter at the forefront with Rivera, Pettitte and Posada. But Bernie Williams was the guy who taught all those suckers how to be professional and showed them all the ropes.

You want a role model? Bernie Williams is your man.

Bernie deserves way more respect and a tighter place in Yankee lore, but he was never that "leadership" type, either vocally or by example. He hardly was those guys' mentor in reality.

Jeter, for example, primarily got taken under the wing of Gerald Williams (which is why breh is basically on Jeter's pay roll to this day) and Tino when he was young.
