If I had to guess, it's a political decision. They call for a full return then, after pushback from parents, teachers, and the union...they go to distance learning and come out of a difficult decision making as few people angry as possible.
In NC they passed a law requiring students to go back in person for the first five days statewide on August 17. After that schools can do what they want.

The senate leader also blocked a bill that would allow schools to make those first 5 days remote if there was a surge.

shyt is a whole mess.

If your boss has kids and they say some wild shyt to you about working under these circumstances, just agree and say, “yeah, can’t wait for schools to open up too” and see what response you get :mjlol:

As of right now my state is planning for a full return in the fall. Seems that’s where most states are.

if that doesn’t change before school starts I’d be surprised if it lasts a month.
