Mbappe is far better than CR at 19 and is slightly better than Messi at 19. They were better dribblers than him (maybe not CR) but that's it, Mbappe's all around game is already superior to theirs at this stage and his Football IQ is much higher. Messi and Ronaldo at this point were pure instinct players, riding on their obscene talent to carry them.
Mbappe is already on the lower end of World Class. Teams have been double-triple teaming him since the Argentina game yet he is still capable of influencing a game, the mark of a dangerous player.

Development of a player is not always linear, Mbappe however has it in him to be Ballon D'or level once Messi/Ronaldo level off. The problem with competing with them is that they set a standard that is unmatched in Ballon D'or history by averaging a goal a game. It's difficult to even do that in many leagues. There was a time players didn't need monster stats to win the the title. Brazilian Ronaldo was the best young prospect I have ever seen, at 20 he scored 47 goals for Barcelona and he was averaging almost a goal a game for PSV as a teenager. He went to Europe at a time when they weren't buying lots of South Americans.He is still an all time great even after injury deprived him of his best seasons and even at 50 or 60% of what he was he still was among the best strikers in the game.
