Do these massive galaxies nolonger exist?

They do, the light coming from those galaxies were previously undetectable to us because it was so faint due to how long they have been travelling. The light coming towards us is scattered with dust and ice particles from all directions making it fainter and fainter over distance; the older they are the longer the light has been travelling, the more scattered it becomes.
