I agree

Yeah at this point I don’t think it will either lol

Facts

Remember back in the day he was working with Jazzyfatnastees?

Yeah, the fame, the money and the drugs really consumed and threw him off his game.

A few year years ago he was working with Steve Lobel, I don’t known if that’s still the case now or what

Truth.

Quest talks about working with Jazzyfatnastees, a lot. If Storch got back to doing more soulful sh*t, and really focused on bringing in new artists, he would kill sh*t. But he just seems to be having a hard time with the personal sh*t and it looks like that got in the way of him being able to get back to the music properly.

I knew he was in the roots I heard of them in 98. He's a major part of the magic of do you want more which is easily a top 2 roots album . I read liner notes back then.

Regardless I'm just mocking you I don't care if you didn't know. Don't be so easy to bait.

I believe him...I remember on a docu I saw, Questlove said he didn't like the "clean" sound of The Chronic (Dre) because he liked his beats/music "dirty" or "raw" sounding like 36 Chambers by RZA.

Facts
Scott is a session player he's not the producer. Hence the piano man diss. He always needed guidance. Even the hits he made alone he was just playing shyt and people picked out the parte they like. He's not the visionary. His best runs are still under other producers. Solo he has no musical identity as a producer... As capable and proficient as he is. He got all the drip and no style

Facts.

I also think it's because you don’t see producers really developing artists anymore. Nowadays, they market themselves the way you would market an artist before. But they don’t put sh*t out, lol. I don’t even see dude getting placements anymore. And he's one of those cats that can really make any kind of beat. He just fell off crazy.

But that's just stylistic difference and preferences not hating.

Quest and them told him he was crazy and Dre was finished. Really they were shading Dre because Scott was leaving them. And Dre's last shyt was Aftermath which was a flop. Scott came in and did Still Dre. Dre was not popping outside but it was still salty to shade him.

Their bandmate didn't want to be the piano man anymore. Ironically he's still chasing that same validation as much more to this day.

He left after Things Fall Apart.

It was downhill for The Roots, after that. I was a serious stan, but after that album and Malik B leaving, they weren't the same.

They fell off immediately after.

I can't co-sign this. Their next two albums were good and then they dropped Game Theory, arguably their best album to me. Their next two albums were great too. And I think all of us fukked with Undun.

Granted I will admit that for most of the Obama/Jimmy Fallon years they became this weird lovable-but-not-really band that felt like an act suburban white people say they love but can't name a song.
