One of my friends models himself after storch.
He got to kick it with him last year, I wonder
if he gave him any advice as an aspiring producer.
Playing isn't the same as composing.
There are a lot of highly skilled pianists but I doubt
they can come up with the memorable melody's storch can.
It's the same as dudes who can Rhyme words ( most anyone can do that) but the ones
who can turn rhyming words into a moving piece of art like Reasonable Doubt, GKMC or Illmatic
are on a whole other level.
Storch had a hand in making that album great but ultimately it was Dre's album.
"Still Dre" isn't "Still Storch" now is it ?
It's the same with dudes like Prince and Michael, there were things they couldn't
do as musicians and so someone else had to help mold their ideas into a product.
Doesn't make them less of who they are

Dr Dre maybe programmed his usual monotonous drum patterns...Boom Bap Boom Bap...
Listen to Dr Dre beats after he left Death Row...There is NO CREATIVITY in the drum pattern...Almost all of them are Boom Bap Boom Bap...
Dr Dre is a legend no doubt...But give Storch his credits...That Dre sound in the late 90's and early 2000's was a big part due to Storch's creativity on the keys...
And Dre beats have not been the same since Storch left...
Where are the keys...? That's why Dre is struggling with Detox, he hasn't found another key master like Storch...
