Trump is really going to get 5 seats on the SCOTUS. This stupid fukking Country.

It’s to the point if a democrat president nominee doesn’t say they are going to remake the bench by either adding people or making the seats no longer permanent….. you can’t be the nominee

Only way they can ensure that promise is by having more than a super majority. They would need to have like 75 seats in the Senate to one abolish the filibuster and two be able to get around the regular turncoat votes they always get saddled with on shyt that matters (see Lieberman/Manchin/Sinema/Fetterman). They will also likely need a significant control of the House. Most of the problems we face now is because the margins are too razor thin. But, unlike Republicans the Dems are never in a comfortable position for control.

Also the voting populace regularly punishes the Dems at the ballot box in a way that they never do Republicans. It's why you need like 75 seats in the Senate because not enough Dems are in a safe spot where they can be progressive enough and withstand the backlash of our goldfish brained electorate. Like you look at Senators like Tubberville in Bama, or Hyde Smith in Mississippi they can be as fukkin dumb and obstructive as they want and get re-elected every single time. But, someone like Slotkin votes to expand the SCOTUS and the "economic anxiety/culture war" brained folks in Michigan will vote her out in a heartbeat cause she shook the boat too much.

I just feel like this was avoidable. The country was on good path forwards(albeit not perfect) and the people chose to piss it all away. Now we get to live in some white supremacist, ethno-fascist oligarchical hellscape... worst of all while they've consolidated this power they're putting thier thumb on the scale to make the entire world worse and it is killing millions.
