Didn’t think it would get hit this hard, but oh well. I haven’t even watched the trailer. Without the Core Four, I’m not interested. Best of luck to the movie regardless.
Was looking forward to it, however, It wasn't as good as I'd hoped, not terrible but definitely walked out feeling it was a disappointment especially with how they were bringing back all these old faces
Kills were more gruesome I'll give it that
The Ghostface reveal was one of the main weaknesses of the film as was the whole 'why' they were doing all the killing especially Jessica, it was underwhelming
Think they need to be done with Sidney, that shyt has run its course.
the core 2 were pretty nonconsequential....and for all the mention of NY...zero mention of Tara/Sam...like you'd think the Core 2 would mentioned them at least since they were their actual friends (i get the real life reason, but if they gonna invoke 6 like they did, should mention the 2 main characters)
it's still too early to call but I might put this one last...3 was better than this shyt, and 3 was goofy
I saw the 7 pm show tonight and the night started off shytty. 2 weeks ago I paid for a 7pm ticket to the Imax show. The shyt was over $40 bucks for 2 tickets. I get to the theater tonight, order food and drinks, buy that high ass Scream 7 merch and walk into the Imax theater and the movie is already 40 minutes in. The guy behind the counter says, "Oh I'm sorry, we made a mistake, the Imax is 6 pm instead of 7. Our computers had a glitch". So there's that. I still saw it in an Elite theater though.
Spoilers below
This shyt has to end here. I'm tired of Gayle and Sidney. I've seen every Scream movie in the theater since the first one. I still have my tickets from the first 2 films and part 6. I've said over and over, the past 30 years, I'm tired of the killers cornering Sidney, giving a dissertation of their life, then someone allowing her to escape and kill them. The shyt has been played for 30 years(minus part 6). NOW, if I was writing it, I would have had someone get killed with the mask on and they reveal afterwards who they were. They would not be able to find a motive and at the end of the film, you see someone driving away with the ghostface mask, thobe, and buck 120 knife in their car as they are the real killer that got away, setting up another sequel. But we get the same shyt every fukin time. Same shyt, different actors. I still think the first Scream is the best and Part 3 is the worst. I think this movie is only better than parts 3 and 4, but only slightly better than 4. It's not bad, but just redundant and dumb mistakes made that shouldn't be happening.
now, having typed all of that, I'm happy to see Kevin Williamson write and direct this one. I have a Kevin Williamson story on how I was introduced to him in January of 1997 by a mutual friend of ours. He's from my area and went to ECU so our friend(who passed away in 2021) made the introduction. He for sure remembers that day and I didn't think anything of it at the time because I had no interest in seeing the first Scream that was just release a month prior in December of 96. The horror industry was dead and I wasn't interested. But when I finally went to the theater and saw it, I was blown away. He's a cool guy...
