Saw a late-night viewing last night, it was aiight. Issa fan-service flick nowadays, and that's not nothing to be mad at.
I like Neve Campbell gotta good attitude about the franchise she come back to it, not like Jamie Lee Curtis.
Really like they played the original Scream 3 angle a bit with Stu Macher probably being the killer and orchestrating the killings.
I think the writing leaned too heavy on if Stu was dead or not though, and that started killing the vibe later in the movie.
Gale disappearing during the final fight felt kinda flat, but if they settin' up the rest of the series around Tatum it is what it is.
I thought it could have been scarier. Too many music cues, not enough atmosphere.
The dialogue and plot came off weaker, and that's a shame since Kevin Williamson took over writing and directing....
John Carpenter would'a been nice to direct.
This entry was to put the Stu speculation to bed, so it's good the franchise is aware of what the fans are talking about.

Tied with Scream 3, 7/10.
Wake me when The Devil Wears Prada 2 come out 'cause I been waitin' for 20 years.

The main thing I hate about these new Scream films is that
they won't jump these mfers. I'm sitting in the theaters screaming "JUMP HIM" when ghostface is in a room of 3 people beating someone's azz one on one as the other 2 are standing back watching. The same thing happened in part 6. He went into a room of 6 people by himself and everyone ran. GTFOH!!
I agree

The cops that came to the house for the sweep just disappeared when Sid and the fam were getting attacked huh :stopitslime:

I agree. You need checks and balances. A writer directing his own work can be a gift or a curse. You can get Do the Right Thing or a Tyler Perry flick

Not trash, but not good. The villains were the worst in the series, as well as the motivation, and the suspects/friends group were the most forgettable.

But Neve did her thing, and the family plot was cool. I think overall, it didn't know what it wanted to be and went in too many directions. It wasn't suspenseful enough, wasn't clever enough, wasn't funny, or enough charm or cheese.

They need Sam/Tara back, especially if the goal is legacy.

It was good to see Neve Campbell still got it and the kills were GREAT, but they didn’t try hard enough with the plot.

Possibly weakest ghostface reveal ever

4/10 Unnecessary, boring, forgettable. Anybody shoulda been able to tell that the kid from Dutch and All I Want For Christmas was gonna be the killer when he said Stu was a patient :mjlol: It's ironic that AI was a focal point cuz it felt like it wrote this trash.
