Yes, they are liable. They don’t have rights and didn’t go through the proper channels to obtain that material. That’s why 50 talking about releasing the rest on YouTube to be petty. Netflix will eat it because of the subscribers they’re earning and assuming a lot of them will keep their subscriptions.

They were told not to release it.
Netflix says they acquired the film legally, and if whoever took the footage didn't get paid then diddy doesn't own the rights to the footage.

That's not how it works dummy. And you clearly don't understand that civil liability and criminal liability are 2 different things. The videographer was paid and said it was his sub contractor who stole the footage and sold it to Netflix when he was not authorized to sell it. And Netflix didnt check with Diddy before releasing it. Diddy sent them a cease and desist as well that they ignored. They are toast and will have to pay up in the civil lawsuit Diddy files.

We'll see

But if what you're saying is true, media platforms would be getting sued left and right for exposing shyt that was leaked to them. Netflix didnt ignore the cease and desist, they already responded saying they acquired the footage legally. They also said they reached out to diddy before release and didn't get a response. I doubt they would've released that doc without being in the clear.

They do get sued all the time and content gets pulled cause it. It's no different than a record label and an artist buying a track from a producer that didnt tell them they used a sample. Even if the artist and label didn't know it used an uncleared sample they get sued cause they profited off it.

Because Netflix says it doesnt make it true. Y’all dudes are choosing to be ignorant because y’all want Diddy to lose.

Are there any examples of a media platform being sued for releasing information someone else leaked to them?

Record label shyt is different because you're dealing with copyrighted material. Photos and videos taken with consent gets alot murkier in the court room, especially when you're dealing with media.

They're saying it was a sub contractor that leak it, well maybe thats the guy who wasn't paid. When you hire someone to walk around filming you and he doesn't get paid, the ownership of that material is in the air.

To be fair, Netflix has been sued for using copyrighted material they didn't have permission to use before.

And to be clear, fukk Diddy I ain't defending shyt.

Plenty of companies use material they may believe they've gotten the rights to use legally, but eventually find out they didn't.

Sometimes the ignorance is willful.

From school districts... to hospital and nursing networks (these are hotbeds of stds, surprisingly.. or maybe not lol) ... call centers etc etc... this is common practice. These celebs are in alignment with the broader public of sharing each other's others

Not an endorsement :whoa:

Do you want him to win? :why:
I want fairness. I don’t support snake ish at any capacity. I know it happens a lot but I’m not going to cheer for it either. An injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere. Even for Puff.

Same could be said for this guy
:russ:

Dude literally put his name on the line and said it to the Rolling Stone so he is definitely the guy. That was your best response because you just hate Diddy. Cool! Netflix, 50 Cent, and that director are going to lose that through and through. Lol.
