Trust me when I say this.... You don't want OU in the PAC-12 or B1G! Time and distance differentials will affect on-field performance. Nebraska aren't dominant anymore because they lost their Texas recruiting base (and the elimination of the parrial qualifier rule).

We may not be recruiting Texas as hard as the past, we haven't abandoned it either.... and we won't. As for playing Texas, you may be right, but I'm personally willing to take that (calculated) risk that OU will keep their recruiting in-roads and visibility in Texas, ONLY if we moved to the SEC. I know A&M isn't Texas, but this is about self-preservation. As big as our rivalry with Nebraska used to be, it's over, bruh! It's time to make new ones; no better place than the football belt, the SEC. After we move, everyone is going to LOVE the SEC and OU will become an even bigger football school!

for all the shortcomings Bob has had, I don't know if anyone currently could take OU to the SEC and compete, other than Bob. His name will get recruits....problem is, he'll prob be retired/gone by the time we got to the SEC.

With that said, until Nick Saban leaves or retires, the SEC is pretty much becoming a 1-team conference. But I do think that SEC logo on our field would be huge.

Nebraska hasn't been dominant since LONG before they left the Big 12. Other than the 1 year with Suh vs Texas, they've been pretty irrelevant since 2002. So I really don't think going to the B1G affected them and I don't think it would affect us terribly in terms of recruiting Texas. Plus consider UT going to the Pac12, they'd be just as affected.

However I do understand your point completely. I just think cfb is much more of a national game now so these kids will be seen on TV by their friends family regardless of team/region.
