I’m down with Trading anyone not named Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley. Would prefer to keep Deandre Hunter. We got a big enough sample size to know that the small backcourt can’t hold up to the playoffs physicality. Two big lineup works, they switched out the paint due the small backcourt and your SF is 6’5 Max Strus. It’s too much to hide on defense. Nothing against Darius Garland he’s a good player, two time all star. Two 6 feet guards non-defender as your starting backcourt will get figured out by a good team in a 7 game series.

Small 2 guards don't make my nature rise unless your name is Allen Iverson.

That being said, I wish Garland showed up. When determining how good a player is, availability is one criteria I use. Dude is injured way too much at the absolute worst times. He is weak and worries about his feminine hairstyles too much. Colin Sexton would've been more valuable than Garland

60 + wins

COY

Mopped up in 5 winning 0 games at home. It's like in between waiting for the 7pm pawg to leave and the 10pm pawg to arrive Pawgiburton decided to kill 3 hours by stomping out the cavs. :wow:

Had Mitchell all on the podium about to cry talking about the mean things the press was going to say about them :mjcry:

Cavs lucky Pawgiburton father didn't run up on Mitchell otherwise he'd be trying to leave like Giannis is :wow:

Donovan Mitchell averages 28 a game for his playoff career in 63 games.
:camby:
He averages less than 4 wins in the second round to :mjlol:

He can't do it with COY AND DPOY :mjlol:

Last time I seen that combo on the same team the Spurs mopped the Heat up so bad Lebron ran back to cleveland :mjlol:

If the Knicks take this all the way with Brunson, the undersized thing won't be an excuse for Mitch anymore.

Also, this is a weird time to criticize dude. He was balling out lol.

1 knicks won't. Pacers will give Knicks problems.
2 knicks have a roster to cover Brunson defensive limitations.
3 you're right his teammates did absolutely nothing. Dude was injured and exhausted

Jalen Brunson is an undersized scoring guard, so that's not a real defense of Donovan Mitchell. Allen Iverson was an undersized scoring guard. This board LOVES Isiah Thomas, who was an undersized scoring guard, who I've been told dialed back his scoring for the betterment of his team success, but was a natural scorer...

That's not a real defense...

What is a real defense is that his teammates didn't show up. They were ass this series and its pretty embarrassing given analytics said the '25 Cavs are a Top 10 offense of all time...

Back to the Brunson thing, another direct comparison is how strong of a playmaker Brunson is, in comparison to Mitchell. Mitchell doesn't make great reads and is also a chucker, another difference with Brunson...

Him being small isn't a real defense. He got MVP votes on a 64-win team and led a historic offense...

Ultimately I'm just having fun with this thread, but I stand on, theres a pattern of him being underwhelming come playoff time. There's only so many times you can lose as a favorite with ~60 win teams, or blow playoff leads, or get outplayed by the opposing team's star guard, and its acceptable. We can acknowledge both that his teammates underwhelm often while also acknowledging that Mitchell isn't That Guy...

Brunson is small and its been abundantly clear since he went to New York and got the keys to the whip that he IS That Guy. Mitchell being small isn't that relevant here...
If KAT, OG, and Mikal get injured he’s going home.

Another murkside production

How about mitchell being the only guy who showed up. While garland was chilling in the side with his denim jackets for three games.

Ty Jerome? His white side took over looking like podz out there

Jarrett Allan had 7 rebounds total the past two games

Evan Mobley in the 4 games he played scored over 20 once
He shot 11/36 from the field and 5/18 from 3 in Game 4 and 5. His 3 ball was broke this whole series. Mitchell is simply too streaky and small with his skillset to be a championship #1.
Can yall do any sort of bball analysis that isn’t just looking at who the #1 option is and blaming him every series. :mjlol:
Why should he be exempt from the credit/blame game given to other star players?
