actually, i'd say A&M was the best team in the SEC.....and arguably the best in the country.

:what::wtf::what::rudy::what::what:

Man, We were coming off a war against LSU at their place that was won in the last seconds.

The next week we played A&M and they jumped up 21-0 on us.

We came back and had a 4th & goal chance to win the game.

We would have beat the shyt out of A&M if they didn't catch us at the right time.

@jadillac You should be ashamed bruh

Why?

I've BEEN saying the SEC is really only about 4 good teams. Now are those 4 or so teams probably better than most other conferences top 4? Sure. I wont deny that.

BUT, you can't say "therefore the SEC is a powerhouse top to bottom", b/c it's simply not true.

In fact, I'd argue there was a period of time in the mid-00's when the SEC was better OVERALL than it is now. Tenn, UGA, Auburn, Bama, LSU, Florida, and maybe 1 more team, were all formidable opponoents who only didnt all achieve greatness b/c they knocked each other off all the time.

We had 6 teams in the top 10 last year.

If it wasn't for frauds like Oregon, KSU and Notre Dame.

The SEC would have owned the top 5 slots in the polls all year.

Last year the SEC was better then it has ever been.

Texas A&M lost to LSU in the middle of season. TBH, A&M benefited playing Bama right after LSU/Bama.

Ok, I'll take that....but if that ended up being their only loss, they probably would've been in the national title game. And they probably would've worked ND.

That Florida game was their FIRST game of the season. They went into an SEC opener game against a top SEC with ZERO practice other than against themselves and only lost by a FG

We would have beat the shyt out of A&M if they didn't catch us at the right time
.

:snoop::snoop:

my goodness.....

Can't not 99% of teams who lose make this argument?

If the SEC wasn't winning championships and performing well in bowl season, the myth wouldn't exist. But it does because the SEC has been pretty good when it counts vs other conferences over the streak.

And Bama had to get to the SECCG to play UGA. They missed playing USCe & UF and don't get me started on the noncon. And god forbid if they had LSUs sched the previous two seasons. But we will continue to let them skate with the "we play in the SEC and that's already difficult" excuse. :usure: When their avg margin of victory not counting the UGA and aTm games was 31!!!!! But that SEC is difficult :shaq2::troll:

Over the past few years Alabama has choked out Va Tech, Michigan, Notre Dame, Michigan St, Clemson, Penn St, etc in non conference

Stop It

very good coaching, quarterback and line play makes the difference against the better sec teams and within the sec. thats how auburn went from a 7 win regular season team to a national title, how texas a&m went from a 6 win to a 11 win team, how arkansas went from an 11 win team that beat up on a top 10 kansas st team in their bowl game to a 4 win team last year.

a lot of this anti sec talk boils down to semantics. the sec is the best, but theyre not that good rhetoric. which basically is arguing with yourself over nothing.

THat was more or less b/c SEC teams start off ranked so highly....sometimes too highly and if any non SEC team loses a game they sky-rocket.

I remember a few years back when the Big 12 was the same way with Texas, OU, Mizzou, Ok St, Tech, and like one other team in the top 10.

Honestly, I can't take anything you say seriously b/c you NEVER give credit to any other teams.

You might have all your teeth, but ur no different than the toothless backwoods hillbillies who just blindly shout "SEC! SEC!" and discredit any other type of footbal

Not exactly murderers row either. For a USC "fan" you sure go hardbody for the SEC

I Go Hard For Logical Arguments :what:

Those Are Powerhouse Programs

The SEC Out Of Conference Schedule Is The Best In The Nation Most Years

LSU is opening with TCU, BAMA is opening with Va Tech, & UGA is opening with Clemson
