Big 12 defenses would have the speed to keep up with Johnny Football and that offense and also have the offense to take advantage of that swiss cheese secondary A&M had one most SEC teams aren't built to take advantage of. The OU game was a one off, playing the teams week in and out is different.

all your points were complete horseshyt, but i wanted to explain to you how silly you made yourself look. if the time off is the reason a swiss cheese a&m secondary was able to hold oklahoma to 13 points, then why wouldnt the time off help the faster big 12 defense hold manziel to less than 516 yards total offense and 4 td's. you cant have it both ways.

:heh: big 12 defensive speed

Yep you right. offensive lineman is something that Big 12 and Big 10 country excels at and the SEC is starting to get a little better but still is distant IMO. Which leads me to ask...if I said....Jamaal Brown is the best OL in the Stoops era....would you disagree?? Who's the best OU DL in the Stoops era as far as production and impact?

That's funny b/c as much as people talk about our high scoring offense in the Stoops era, the one reason why we're lacking right now is interior play, on both sides of the ball.

Yeah, Jamal was one of the best....also Davin Joseph was really good...but I think Trent Williams might have been the best overall. Our whole line was insane during the Bradford era. He rarely took sacks for a couple of seasons........soon as they left, Bradford went down. lol

As far as DLinemen, I'd say either Tommie Harris or Gerald McCoy. But during the early to mid 00s I think we had some really good Dlinemen in general that were just really good players.

I still wish we beat Florida in 2009. :to: I'd like to think if DeMarco played it would've made a difference, but who knows.... :sadcam:

I wont disagree with you on that....but that really comes down to location.

There's just alot of big ass kids down here in the South as opposed to most other places.

The best of those players are in the SEC, and the Big 10.

Taylor Lewan put the beats on one of the greatest SEC defensive lineman of all time minus ONE PLAY, and he didn't miss HIS block.

LOL @ sec lineman being bigger, this is getting ludicrous. Can they also jump over a building in a single bound?

Michigan's offensive lineman in (*insert arbitrary time period to make me look good like you all do*) years >>>>>>>>> SEC

Pretty damn much. He made himself A LOT of money last year to the point I felt he would of been a top 5 pick in this past draft. Lewan was basically manhandling Clowney all day. Lewan and Cyrus Kouandijio and Jake Matthews are the top tackles in CFB

His decision to come back was a good look for michigan.:obama:

We're breaking in 3 new OL on the line, so to have Lewan back and running shyt helps them get on track.

By the Ohio State game they should be ready for anything.

he held (held being the operative word) clowney without a sack, but clowney beat him plenty of times. lewan got help with a tight end lined up over clowney and a double team from the guard on a vast majority of passing downs.

lewan did get a holding call on a play where he was beaten so badly that he had to grab him to prevent the sack. he did a solid job, but lets not go overboard.

Lewan is a really good player surprised more people don't talk about him holding his own against Clowney

Muschamp clapped back :leon:

Bob Stoops calls SEC propaganda-driven; Will Muschamp fires back

by Jason Lieser
The SEC has won seven straight national championships, but Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says that does not make it the best conference in America.

Stoops, in the Big 12, pointed out at a recent publicity event that the “bottom six” teams in the SEC (it’s hard to tell exactly who he would include that group besides Kentucky and Tennessee) are far from dominant. In his conference, 8 of 10 teams went to a bowl game.
“So they’ve had the best team in college football,” Stoops said, according to the Tulsa World. “They haven’t had the whole conference. Because, again, half of ‘em haven’t done much at all. I’m just asking you. You tell me.”
He went on to say that the conference’s prominence is fed by mythology.
“So you’re listening to a lot of propaganda that gets fed out to you,” he said. “You’re more than smart enough to figure it out. Again, you can look at the top two, three, four, five, six teams, and you can look at the bottom six, seven, eight, whatever they are. How well are they all doing?”
Florida coach Will Muschamp, formerly the defensive coordinator at Texas, heard Stoops’s comments and got a good laugh out of it tonight.
“I’d be saying the same thing if I were in the Big 12,” he joked. “I said it for three years.”

I remember that flagged play, because it was about the only play that Lewan didnt do his job.

Michigan....has been the object of attrition and bad coaching. Between kids transferring, flaming out, and having to deal with :childplease: Rich Rod, a poor season in transition is to be expected.

They are on the way back. They are still the youngest team in the big ten tho.

Urban Meyer had much more talent on the two deep that Hoke did (left over from previous regime)
