The reason i say it and other Timberwolves fans say that Rubio is the most important player is based on success. Rubio came in last year and made this team competitive. We as fans hadn't seen a competitive Wolves team since KG was traded. We were starved for even a taste of success and Rubio and Adelman were the reasons they were winning.
Kevin Love is a great offensive player but he as long as he's been the "best player" the Wolves haven't won shyt. This is about winning not what the box score says. Kevin Love is great and will prosper as a 2nd or 3rd option but fukk that entitled bytch for demanding things like he's brought this team any kind of success. What he says about talent and building a team is legit but he won't shut the fukk up and win.

This board is very bi-polar when it comes to Kev. The only time people ever come to his defense around here is when I criticize him. Every other time, I'm the one trying to convince everyone else that he isn't a stat padding, low impact having "system inflating" overrated bum.
Anything you just said about Ricky can be applied to Kev.

Do you think Ricky would have this team winning as it is currently constructed if Kevin Love is/was injured? Are you sure that the credit should be given to Rubio or Adelman instead of it being that the T'Wolves can have success once you put legitimate pieces AROUND Love?
For clarity, I'm actually in agreement that Rubio will be more important to their success than Love, and that Love isn't as impactful as it seems, but I can definitely see the argument the other way as well. I also believe that on a pure one-on-one comparative basis, Love is a better player than Rubio is.

I'd say this much. If it were Love that tore his ACL instead of Rubio last season, we wouldn't have gone 5-22 the rest of the way. No way, no how.
I say the same thing about Love that I said about Al Jefferson when he was here averaging 23 and 11. You build WITH him, not AROUND him.
and @TrillaMonsoon is right. I give more credit to Adelman than anyone else in the organization for how we've come along.
