Children regularly get sent home in the Caribbean for their clothes not meeting school standards

I would be willing to bet similar situations happen all over the world

I agree. I went to a catholic school and there was a dress code and if you violated the dress code you got a few warnings then after that you were suspsended and or sent home. The parents are well aware of the codes so in the event that it happens to a child there is no outrage. I don't know about public schools but I imagine they all have some sort of dress code and most parents should be aware of it.

I think people are inflating this to a gender, feminist, misogyny issue when it really seems like it's just spoiled parents who don't want to be told what to do with their kids when in reality you aren't special and you have to abide by the rules just like everyone else.

I'm not saying I disagree with her post, I just don't understand why she thinks that flyer is ridiculous. lol sending a girl home from school because her shorts are too short or her bra straps are showing is stupid. I doubt the boys are gonna be distracted by bra straps.

They used to send us home for not having a belt if our pants were sagging.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. There is nothing wrong with dress codes I said I think sending someone home for being out of dress code is dumb. Call their parents to bring them clothes or something. My hs used to make us go to iss (in school suspension) or just say don't wear it again/give you a write up. Making someone go home over it is dumb in my opinion.

But if you don't have a problem with that then why does it matter what I think.

So I should as a school administrator have to contact you to come to my school for you to provide your child with the appropriate school attire.

And how many times must I allow this to happen?

What kind of deterrent is saying dont wear it again?

An in school suspension? what does that involve?

The suspension serves notice to BOTH PARENT AND CHILD...

If one of your employees was dressed inappropriately for work you would send them home right?

School Is work for children.
There's rules and dress standards. My children's public schools had uniforms /dress code for all students boys and girls.

I've seen judges send people home for being part of the audience in the courtroom and being dressed inappropriately

I've been to churches where a Lap covering is given to visitors who's skirts were a little too short.

This is life.

I don't think the goal should be "oh no! Don't distract the little boys!"
But there's nothing wrong with encouraging a better learning environment with fewer distractions for everyone.

As a parent it's my responsibility to make sure my child is dressed appropriately for the occasion when they leave my house.

I'm not sure what kind of trash parent thinks it's an important freedom for children to wear too short shorts.

These crazy women just want to yell at the sky about how "extra oppressed" they are by men. And God forbid anyone disagree with their lunacy.

:scust:

Plus rep....

I have 2 daughters and mine won't dress like that in or out of school. Not as long as I'm living.
