Doesn't matter. Great players always fall out of the lottery. The concept of having a 1st round pick is still valuable and can turn into a player like a Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Rudy Gobert, Giannis, Avery Bradley, Bledsoe, etc all guys who fell late. Again, its a good trade for Toronto, but just pray Orlando doesn't pick up an Eastern conference 2021 All-Star with that pick
You can also get a player in the 2nd round. Zubac, Clarkson and Larry Nance, Norman Powell, jokic.

bruh they signed DeMar to 150 million. They're trying to win now. What will hoarding first rounders do? Also Lowry is the best player in franchise history, why wouldn't they try to appease him? You essentially said teams shouldn't improve cause warriors are winning the title this year
Demar would be a good trade chip :ehh:

and I am essentially saying that, I would rather be entering a rebuilding stage now, than making win now deals that don't put you anywhere near winning a title

It's whatever tho, maybe yall can beat the Cavs?

Even if they got whooped by the warriors, that would be their first finals appearance. Bruh our best PFs since Bosh has left has been Amir Johnson and Patrick Patterson. Let us eat

People can't have it both ways, most of the world criticized the Process but when a team that probably doesn't have a significant chance at winning the chip goes all in people criticize that too

At the very least the Raptors have fighters chance of beating the Cavs since they acquired Serge (and the Cavs have injuries to Love, Shump and JR)......Based on how the playoffs go they can decide whether to keep it together or let Lowry and Serge walk and start over but it's down right anticompetitive to say we're not going to try because the Warriors and Cavs exist.

They mortgaged next to nothing to upgrade in the moment and still have the option to blow it up...win-win deal...

I'm saying, its a good trade but when it comes down to it Ibaka doesn't put them over the top, and in the long run there's a chance Orlando could win this deal

The Truth
Thats a good move by Toronto

They got

Ibaka
Valuncunis (sp?)
Derozan
Lowry

And whoever they decide to defend/hit threes at SF (Carroll, Powell, etc).

On paper, they look pretty balanced. If Ibaka can defend and hit 3's (literally all he has to do) then I can see them taking the East at the moment.

And what does a first rounder do? While you're at it, let me know what jakob Portland, Delon wright and paskal siakam are doing for the Raptors? At some point you have to turn assets into something. No point in hoarding first rounders and benching them while your two players are 28 and 31

They should try to get Milsap, I dont know how that would work though. Dont know the Raptors roster like that
