OP is right but most of y'all lack the basic knowledge to debate this. It's been covered on The Coli a few times but people still catch feelings and nothing gets resolved.

NY created almost (not all) all the styles that exist in hip hop because they had a good 10-15 headstart on everyone else. Other coasts took the various incarnations they liked outta NY and built on it. NY shytted on other coasts because it was regional bias mixed with "why y'all on that old bullshyt we already abandoned? Can't you see this sample-based Marley Marl-esque shyt is really the smartest version of this genre?" and so on
