I just have a problem with Usher making infinitely more immature music now as a grown man than he did as a youngster & young adult. I mean where(what age) does it end?

At least R. Kelly has been doing it since he debuted.

IMO Usher, image-wise, should be at a point in his career where he can stand on a stage and sing a real song in front of a wide-ranging audience of all ages/races of people. :manny: "I Don't Mind" ain't gonna work, nor is "Good Kisser" in that scenario.

Yeah Good Kisser is the exact song for his original audience that have grown up.

But I disagree with your thesis. James Brown was dancing on stage the month before he died. George Clinton is still wacking out Atomic Dog & Freak of the Week in his 60's. Mick Jagger still strutting and hip thrusting to this day. Usher is an entertainer. He sings. He dances. He gets a lil "sexy" for the audience/ladies. He'll be doing that for the next 20 years. It will slow down a bit but so will his audience. He'll be fine.

There's women 40+ going to R Kelly concerts to hear him sing about debauchery despite his paedo history. Usher will rock arenas for years to come.

What I find funny is that Usher was selling WAY more records when he was just a household name in the Urban community.

Now because of The Voice and more pop-oriented songs over the past 7,8 years he's much more of a household name in middle America but isn't nearly as a big of a seller as he used to be.
This was never the case.

He was on regular MTV in the 90's. My Way the album had 2 #2 Billboard singles. 8701 was a monster. Usher was as much a Popstar as he was an RnB artist. He's not Maxwell or D'Angelo.

So We gon act like the "New Flame" Vocals don't exist.

He washed Breezy on his own song. No contest.

Y'all gotta let Confessions go. That was damn near 15 years ago now. He don't have to make another one. He gave y'all that already b

Usher still sells out arenas but that doesn't mean he's relevant. Popularity doesn't = relevance. Earth Wind & Fire can sell out an arena but they're not relevant in mainstream music anymore.

That being said Usher still has his moments.. Climax goes, his verse on New Flame is dope

I think a question like this should only pertain to someone who continues to try to be relevant again and fails.

Usher is one of those hall of famers that doesn't need any of that. He's in the books for life no matter what, and hasn't really "failed" at being a star over the last 5 or so years anyway.

nope
muthafukkas ain't payin' his music no attention like talkin' bout no more and it's because usher been droppin' bullshyt for a while now :pachaha:
although that "good kisser" song was nice :ehh:
but shyt, usher done even started chasin' trends makin' tracks with them migos muthafukkas :mjlol: and before that he ran off durin' europop/electric shyt :russ:

the crazy thing is, usher could still drop some good music if he linked up with some great songwriters and producers but he stay just tryin' to get by with some ol trendy bullshyt instead of makin' music with quality :snoop:

Marrying that cougar and dropping that dud of an album after Confessions were the only real pitfalls he had. He's recovered nicely but he'll never be the superstar he once was.

He's no Justin Timberlake but he does alright for himself.

Usher is better than timberlake( talent wise as well as his catalog). The difference between them is the fact that usher has been in the game for 20+ years and has put out more music which makes it a lot harder to stay hot compared timberlake who went solo, but rarely puts out music consistently.

As for the question of whether or not usher is still relevant is yes he's still relevant. Good kisser was a dope song, she came to give it to you was decent(would have been better without nicki), and I don't mind was his biggest hit lately( I didn't like the song).

Dude still eating from bieber and he still has it in him to crush these new r&b dudes if he wanted( ask Chris Brown).
