Watching that "Follow the Leader" episode made me really think.
He seemed to be giving Thugga some sound advice on how to become a bigger and better artist.

Lyor came into the rap world, via the BANKING INDUSTRY...via two individuals ...super agent Norby Walters and Mafioso artist manager Michael Franceze who didn't give two shyts about "the culture of hip hop" or the personalities involved
and people wonder to this day , how DEF JAM inc. got finessed out of Russell Simmons "hands".
Dude is the personfication of "EXPLOITATION"....
I'm not going to deny Lyor's impact on the genre..he is a vet and has been involved in this "so-called" Culture before many of the posters on this board where even born, and has had a hand in virtually every "wave" of hip hop from East Coast Golden Era Rap, to West Coast Gangsta Rap ..Dirty South as well as today's "hipster phenomenon"....
what i do have a problem with is in virtually every scenario as Daz Dilllinger pointed out in that IG post...
he tries to STIFLE the creative freedom of the artist......he DOESN'T STAY IN HIS LANE which is to basically "cut the check" and "promote the artist"
all that trying to tell an artist how to create the "magic" in the studio that Lyor has nothing to do with , is above and beyond..
i gotta agree with Thugga and his manager on this one...it's the "mystique" and unpredictablity about Thugga that has helped build his career..
you seen that with Rakim, Sade, Prince and others i was DRAWN TO as a fan
..now im not trying to say he is just like those artists
im simply saying it helps build a CULT FOLLOWING when your not as accessible to your fans, it draws them in and helps create a LOYAL fan base that doesn't care about your record being played on the radio all the time......
and for the record LYOR HASN'T DISCOVERED ANYTHING...IM SICK OF THIS MISINFORMATION AS PRESENTED IN THAT BIO that LYOR DISCOVERS TALENT

all the acts going back to the BEASTIE BOYS back in the 80's were already STARS before LYOR came in the mix....
lyor just wants to EXPLOIT THE MOMENT....and has no concern for building longevity...that's how he did plenty of artists in the past such as the Jarule, DMX...and others......with the mass marketing and media presence.
and what benifit is it to THUGGA???
in this clip of that FOLLOW THE LEADER episode, Lyor walks THUGGA into the YOUTUBE OFFICES to show him the numbers his views has generated streaming on YOUTUBE for videos THUGGA DIRECTED!!!
