in this day and age the legal complications that arise when she steps out on you, isnt worth getting married, alimony, shared purchases, child support, her being a bytch if you breakup... sheesh...no thanks... id rather keep my own money, screw any female i want, and drive a nice car not worrying about anything else... its not worth it to get married to any woman who could flake out on you after years of being loyal...
The legal aspect is important for the rights of the children and spouse if something were to go wrong.

i expect this thread to be filled with lies today...
most of these dudes are gonna end up married...theyre in their 20s right now and have dreams of living like george clooney plowing thru 20 yr olds until they turn 60...

There is nothing wrong with it if that's what you want to do fam. But asking other guys why don't they sign the paper work for marriage, is like you trying to tell me to sign a two year cell phone contract with Sprint or Verizon. Why should I do that? when I can just get a pre paid no contract phone and get all the same benefits that you get. Oh yea, I don't have to pay a penalty (ALIMONY) if I wanna get out the contract. So if you wanna get LEGALLY MARRIED knock yourself out. But as @Asantehene pointed out, you can have the ceremony, exchange rings, and if she really want's your last name she can change it. But you don't need to get the government involved.

im all the way married. i had to sign the contract because i wanted an old school gal and it comes with the territory. i was not gonna get anywhere with the "why sign a contract when we can do a prepaid" argument

nikkas focus on failed marriages so much. If you focus that energy on maintaining your marriage and doing the right thing, you'll be apart of the 50% of the non-failed marriages.
But it's cool, I take it that most nikkas on here are young. Not many women going for ceremony without making it legal...that's the whole point of marriage. I wish you nikkas would go to a female who u been with for YEARS in a serious relationship, and give them that "contract vs pre paid phone" line....y'all will be bachelors by default. but I'll let y'all have it for now.

Logic is flawed...so men don't want to get married because she might cheat on you. Then don't get into a relationship, in fact we should all be hermits and not interact with people cause we'll get disappointed by people.
I have nothing against a man not interested in marriage but he better not expect me to stick around on this I don't need a paper to validate our relationship shtick. Marriages don't last in this day and age because people have their values screwed up and are selfish.
Case in point; those that want to keep their money in the bank. That's fine, do you...but these same dude, years later, are trying to cuff up a woman half their age when they've reached their geriatric age to spend their old years. Selfish donkeys
Note to ladies: never stick around for a man to change his mind on marrying you. Within 1 or 2 years that needs to be established and the marriage talk needs to pop up early. Far too many black women playing house just to be thrown to the bushes later. Because they believed that nothing but paper BS.
