Reasonable doubt is not even a top ten album.
I was just listening to "Lifestyles of the poor and Dangerous", and there is a Song featuring Jay-z and he literally had the worst flow, worst presence and worst lyrics on the entire album. recently, I saw him "freestyle" on a late 80s MTV interview with Big Daddy Kane, and it was pure garbage.
I am struggling to understand how he became so elevated in hip-hop. I think It's basically due to his cut-throat business tactics, beat selection, and ear for commercially viable records.
As a capitalist advocate, I respect his ability to sell music that appeals to the dull minded mass market. It's a testament to his business acumen.
However, to say that he has ever creatively recorded something on the same level as "New York State of Mind" or "Life is a Bytch" is intellectually dishonest and the symptom of bias and fanboyism.
