I turned off 3 rnb albums yesterday because of that. I just don't wanna hear that coming from singers. Chloe had a song that started off her singing "fukk nikka" over and over and I felt so :flabbynsick:....like, what is this?
Pretty much don't listen to rnb because of this. The song writing is so ass.

Sometimes it's quite obvious when someone can't sing or rap on beat, things like that. Or if someone just made bunch of chaotic sounds. I remember skrillex era from like 12 years ago. It sucked, it sounded like bunch of old printer noises mixed with dial up connection sounds. Thankfully that era did not go for too long, Unfortunately we have a whole bunch of other wack shyt nowadays anyway.

And before someone mentions underground is where most of the good music is at forgets an ultra garbage shyt like this still exists underground and there are plenty of fans:

The problem is find it. Amongst the millions of artists vying for your attention.
Find it when you're an adult with an adult schedule.
You got time to post on this site, you got time to look for whatever suits your fancy :heh:

The time you're gonna spend replying to this you could be looking for some dope shyt :mjlol:

This is a prime case of "It sounds good to say but doesn't stand up when examined".

:mjlol:indeed.

Because the average consumer has no standards, no preference. They listen to whatever comes out. Let's say you run a company and your product becomes worse quality wise, you hire worse specialists but you still sell well. And then a lot of musicians who were great and were capable of protecting the art form from losing its value so drastically actually did nothing at all.

A lot of the music is either bad quality or it tries to emulate a successful formula from the past and it sounds like something you heard many times before.

Who are the next artists that have a huge star power and make a music we haven't heard before? Someone who would influence the next generation of great artists?

There's no way to quantify this though because there's no real consensus on good or bad music because it's art. Two people could be listening to the same song and walk away with different opinions.

The only real information we have to justify quality is the numbers. Nobody actually buys music any more and that's been the case since 2014. Everything is about streaming now and even with streaming, it's a lot of decades old music that is out streaming new music. There's albums that have spent an entire decade on the charts.
There is definitely a way to gauge the quality of art.
But even if something is bad, people can and will still like it.
It's a slim distinction, yet it does exist.

There is such a thing as having an unsophisticated palate.
When you're 8, you think McDonald's is the best food on the planet and your mother's cooking is meh.
When you're 25, you're trying to avoid McDonald's and you hope your mother cooked when you visit.

Music is no different.
If you really feeling this music out now, it's because of two things:
1. You were raised on it. If raised on crap, you will like crap. It's the person who likes Kool-aid more than fruit juice.
2. You have severely underdeveloped taste in music.

It's probably both.

Who decides that it's crap though? That's my point. A lot of our parents hated the Hip Hop we came up on. Does that mean it was garbage? Even the R&B music.

Who are we to tell someone they have underdeveloped tastes in music just because we don't like it.

I love Soul Food over McDonald's, but there are people that would argue that BOTH are equally unhealthy.

You can circle jerk yourself to believe that the quality of art can't be gauged, but it can.
Like I said, something being of inferior quality doesn't stop people from liking it.

Honestly, it's a conversation that's gonna be out of your depth.
I'm not gonna type all of these supporting points of my argument with examples to illustrate my points just for you to split hairs, play semantics and what if me to death, like you're doing now.
So we'll stop here.

A Hawaiian Bruno Mars won grammys for R&B music with Silk Sonic.

A cac Justin Bieber was regarded as the lone international male star of R&B for years

An italian cac Ariana Grande whom is now biracial through plastic surgeries has been regarded as the face and voice of female pop/r&b.

SZA has blew up recently and I'm happy that a black face is stamped into R&B but I'm sorry, her music is not good to me. Guess I'm too old fashioned.

HER is toonfocused on her acting career. She's the only true talent capable of carrying R&B.

Chris Brown... :snoop:

Breh, there is nothing you could post to justify one piece music being inferior to another.

I didn't move goal posts, play a game of semantics, or even circle jerk you. You presented this whole McDonald's vs your mama's cooking to justify your point, did you not?

Ain't no American artists were doing features with African Artists until Drake started using the sound on views and doing features with them on Morelife. Please tell me who before
