I don't see the logic in your argument. Why? You're arguing a song that you actually like has a wack beat and purposely, yet randomly comparing it to a song from an artist you hate. Either way, who can sit there and tell you your ears are wrong. That is my point.

This whole audiophile reasoning of trying to use sonic audiophile ideals in hiphop cultural music is the issue.

In hiphop it has definitely mores and norms for why a song is better than the other. Plus the emcee pillar has skill markers. That definitely entrench skills and the quality attached to them.
That whole art is subjective shyt.

Is classic trained art bullshyt from no talents who could never draw. Trying to fake get props for mixing mediums and never properly being skilled in any medium. to critique any medium whatsoever.

I'm not gonna even front. I been listening to a whole lot of afrobeats.

I'm not tryna listen to a whole playlist of rappers sliding on opps nor am I gonna listen to r&b "singers" talkin about some fukk that nikka, eat this dikk up whole without the seasoniiiiiiiing
I turned off 3 rnb albums yesterday because of that. I just don't wanna hear that coming from singers. Chloe had a song that started off her singing "fukk nikka" over and over and I felt so :flabbynsick:....like, what is this?
Buckeye, you ADOS? I’m kinda curious as to the percentage of ADOS folks who kinda dig Afrobeats. I’m not ADOS, but I’ve never been into Afrobeats. It’s nice music sonically, but I just…eh. I don’t know. I’ve just never been able to get into dance music if it wasn’t funk, soul, RnB, etc. @letticook But as I’ve been saying for a while now, what we got in the 2010s and now is what I’ve termed “Hard N B”(:dame:). Singers more than ever before are a lot “harder” and are crooning and singing about explicit sex, the streets, violence, cussing, substance abuse, etc. Ppl like to bring up old Blues artists from back in the days who were openly vulgar, but those artists weren’t mainstream, and the ones who did break that ceiling and made it mainstream had to clean up their music for public consumption. Nowadays, these artists biggest and most streamed RnB tracks are almost indistinguishable from sex/gangsta/party rap.

No one can legitimately tell you you have bad taste in music. Because someone could say the same thing about theirs and so on and so forth. This is literally the reason why we have forums. If there really was a way to determine good and bad music, there wouldn't be in depth discussions in regard to music.
Yes we can tell! And it's been like that for decades. Here's another example for you:

Woodstock 99 is a good example when a certain music brings out rapey rioting emotions out of smelly white privileged lames :mjlol: where's the art in that? There is no way an artist like fred durst should be considered a good musician by anyone. Can't rap nor sing, took the worst part from rap music and made songs from it.

And there are artists in current era like pedoshi69 who got no soul, no skill, no melody, no rhythm, just dumb angry negative energy.

Again, there is no way to distinguish that.
DMX owned Woodstock '99 and those same smelly white lames all sang along to X's songs in unison just like they did Fred Durst's. Apparently a lot of people considered Fred a good artist.

Every generation has this debate. Your parents think what you like sucks too.

5 years from now the charts will just be Korean rappers and pop groups.

DMX was great because he had talent. If trash people consider trash artists like fred durst a good artist, that don't mean he was a good artist. Same fans liking garbage and good stuff don't validate garbage as the good stuff.

Would you consider movies like epic movie/meet the spartans great films? Because some think they're great while all reviews say they suck.
