Lawmakers in that state are set to vote Friday on a bill that would legalize accidentally running over protesters in the road, one of several new measures in Midwestern states to discourage disruptive protests.
Rep. Keith Kempenich introduced the North Dakota bill, which states that if a driver "unintentionally" causes injury or death to someone blocking traffic on a roadway, then the driver will not be liable for damages.
Kempenich said he was spurred to act after Dakota Access Pipeline protesters last year moved to block public roadways, scaring some of his constituents.

Yup, MLK, SNCC, and other civil rights activists were "beyond dumb" too since they employed the same tactics.

If people are being oppressed and brutalized, fukk anybody else's comfortable state of affairs. Things SHOULD be shut down until these things are acknowledged and remedied. There have been no cases of people dying in ambulances due to these tactics, that is a misdirection point people insert into these debates to undermine direct action

:mjlol:

Well glad you have taken a stance that other people's potential issues aren't as important.

It could be a doctor having to go in to perform an emergency surgery, it could be a woman going into labor, etc etc

My father was working on our roof one day, worker came and knocked on our door said something was up, we didn't know what was going on, had him laying on the living room floor, was giving him water. We ended up taking him to the hospital, to which then the Dr. said he had a heart attack.

Had a situation where people been blocking the road happened;he could have died

Point is you don't know what's going on and why people NEED or trying to get where they are going

If you're feeling the need to protest about something take it to the actual authorities who need to hear your grievences

Show me a case where someone asked protesters to let them through after explaining an emergency situation and their passage was refused. Then you'll have a point.

If you're on your way to see a loved one at their house, hypothetically they could have a heart attack at any moment. Maybe you having to wait at that red light is the difference between you getting there to save them or them dying.

Should we get rid of red lights? :ohhh:

What if you were at that light and a police officer stopped you and shot you for resisting arrest because he assumed you were lying about the loved one having a heart attack cause of :mjpls:

Should we get rid of Cops and guns too cause they didn't make it to the hospital?
:ohhh:

‘Black Lives Matter’ Protesters Block Bridge, Delay Child’s Medical Emergency

I know this isn't an exact response to your response.

But in that case, who's to say they are even in a position in traffic to even get through.

Which then goes back to my point

Why not go directly to the officials and or people you have the issue with and protest and they " hear" your voice there?

People avoid getting hit, average people get where they need to go

Ahh yes, the issue is only with disruptive protests, because republicans were super cool with people just not standing up during the national anthem.
This is not about killing dissent, no, this is about little Timmy who will die on the way of the hospital because of a protest. Now don't look as we repeal the ACA, little Timmy can go fukk himself.

p.s.
And it's a bit upsetting to me that I even have to say that, but there are already laws in the books that make it illegal to block roads, this is about letting private citizens mow down protestors and get away with that.

I'm a NYC fireman, I've had friends tell me they couldn't make it to runs because of protesters not letting the truck through, it does happen.

We're going to sit here and act like people dying because of protest related traffic congestion is like a serious concern that must be addressed?
And not only be addressed, be addressed by vehicular vigilantes going death race 2000 on protesters?

I'm not saying you're advocating this, but we should not engage such fukkery on that level. This is yet another attempt to limit first amendment rights and people should no accept that.
