As a guard that pull up 3 ball has to be a weapon, especially in situations like this. And if it isn’t you have to be an elite playmaker or you have to live at the rim

Donovan Mitchell might be SG1 when it comes to high level playoff ball

And OKC might have an opportunity to bring Anakin Skywalker back if they flame out

TYRONE GA!
This CBA kills depth in contenders. They’re gonna have to start paying everyone, and won’t be able to. They should have enough draft picks to bring cheap guys in, but it’s still gonna be on SGA to be able to get it done when the playoff whistle comes around.
CJ Urkel and the player's union need to be kicked in the nuts for agreeing to that second apron shyt

i don't think there has ever been a point guard led team running pick and roll to a championship, so no matter what you see in the regular season from a guard isn't real because that's not how they'll be guarded or who they'll be guarded by in the playoffs.

And also didn't you make the thread about people hyping up this as one of the all time guard seasons just so you could make this thread later when he flamed out :pachaha:

You a smart hater. I like that.
Nah i didn't make no thread like that 🤣
Bad thread. He was the best player in that Dallas series last year but nobody came along for the ride.

In game one, he was awesome and the rest of the team shyt the bed. He had 13 in the 4th on 4-7 shooting and the rest of the team was 4-16.

One bad game tonight does not define his legacy. It was not a good look when he was grifting for a foul on their final possession of regulation instead of just trying to make a shot though.
That Dallas team got shytted on in The Finals and proved they wasn't a great team, no one is gonna remember that team in 3 years. Hence, why I've kept saying he needs a moment vs a quality opponent---->people WILL remember the Jokic Nuggets...

I'm not defining his "legacy" off one game, it's only been 7 years......but I am saying it's 7 years in. It's time to have a moment..
There’s been literally 2 -shooting Guards in history who could carry their teams to multiple championships. SGAs numbers look all time great, but there’s no way you watch him play and think he’s on that level.
I don't....but Bill Simmons, Zach Lowe, and a ton of lesser known basketball podcasters said, repeatedly, this is one of the greatest seasons ever from a shooting guard, and the greatest shootong guard season of the last 25 years...

A dude I work with back in Raleigh, granted he's a lifelong OKC fan and he's white too, said this is possibly the greatest shooting guard season ever. So I also heard someone say this in real life, he said that shyt back in March...
Too early. With Shai, this is essentially his first really bad playoff game in 2 years, spanning roughly 17 games. He's been mostly if not consistently great in the other 16. As a result, this will be the first time where he'll face real scrutiny. Which is different than other stars who have shyt the bed with individual performances multiple times.

So it more-so depends on how he responds from game 4 onward, and ultimately if OKC wins. Remember, Steph had to deal with allegations of not being that guy up until 3 years ago, despite having 3 rings prior to 2022.
This will be Shai's third consecutive finish as a Top 5 MVP finalist...

In '23, 5th place finish, 40 wins, missed playoffs;

'24, 1-seed, 57 wins, beat Pelicans, lost to Mavs;

'25, 1-seed, 68 wins, heard all year how historically great this team is. Beat Grizzlies, are in trouble vs Denver...

3x Top 5 MVP candidate who will win it this year, where is his moment? When is it coming? Don't give me Dallas last year. He may have been the best player in that series, but they lost in SIX as a 1-seed in the SECOND ROUND. Where is his big playoff moment vs a real team?

When is it coming?

Steph had to fight those allegations from a minority of people. I, you, and most other people knew he was That Guy. At Shai's stage of career he had his title and MVP in Y6 (67 wins) and followed it up in Y7 with a bad ending, but legitimately one of the greatest seasons a player ever had in Y7. I think Shai is a great player----->I never watched him at any point this year and thought, man this is an All-Time great year...

I had several moments in '16 Steph and knew it was one of the greatest seasons ever...
OP been desperate to get the heat off Bron these playoffs.

:lolbron:
I'm sorry dog, I never been able to truly acclimate to being an internet nikka. If I make a thread about a guy, it's about the guy I made a thread about. I don't have conversations in real life about one person and be secretly meaning someone else...

I'll never be able to understand the logic of people who grew up and were developed by internet culture...
People in this thread copping pleas

But I keep going back to one common theme........people want to anoint cats as great but dont hold them to the imaginary standards they set up in their head for other players they dont like...
💯!

So Tatum, who has won a championship as a #1, been to another Finals as a #1, outplayed Durant in a series, and has gone blow for blow in series with Giannis and Butler, is fair game for criticism...

But this is "too early" for Shai, who is only one year younger in basketball years, has led a historically-dominant regular season, and will win the MVP?
Bro had back to back good performances,is outperforming Jokic but has one bad game and is bordering fraud territory

The Coli :dead:
He didn't outperform Jokic in G1 or G3, what are you talking about?

We know these threads are ultimately about Bron. It's why you made that post about Jokic the other day -
This is a unique ass kicking. A 48-point lead after 3 quarters, over a team with the consensus best player alive, who also fouls out in 3 quarters. I don't have the data in front of me but I'm betting that's never happened to any "best player alive" before...
That is without a shadow of a doubt about Bron (the corresponding posts I quote below are proof of this).

It's the same reason why you try to gas Harden over DWade. It's the same reason why you went out of your way to quote my post last week about how Steph and Jokic are [unfairly] criticized on this board more than Giannis is, and then you tried to twist what I posted as if I was saying they're scrutinized as much as Bron (when I didn't state nor insinuate as such) -
None of these guys get scrutinized to the LeBron level. It just is what it is.

When it comes to Giannis, Steph, Jokic, etc, we’re only allowed to focus on the strengths and great games they play, never the flaws.
This board focuses on Steph’s and Jokic’s flaws all the time, leave them out of your dumbass agenda.

:camby:
Now you and everyone else knows neither of those two, nor anyone else, get LeBron levels of scrutiny. You responded like homie said nobody criticizes them, or they don't get hated on at all...

Steph nor Jokic get nitpicked, criticized, scrutinized, to anywhere near the level LeBron does. At all...
I was specifically talking about not grouping Steph/Jokic in with Giannis. You took it as if was saying they get heat like Bron does. And you only believed that because you're constantly in Bron-defense mode.

Quite clearly you're not either not cognizant of the arguments you make defending Bron or you're being dishonest about it.

@murksiderock you literally made the "The Shai conversations are starting..." That's the the bait for us to double back and shyt on him (which we will do with no problem as you see in this thread).

On the thread topic -

This is a learning curve for Shai that he's not going to get the same calls as he did in the regular season. He can't supplement his scoring and force the defense to be cautious when the whistle isn't as favorable to him. Fortunately for him, he's not a one-trick pony like Harden is, so he'll eventually figure it out.

Its neither, but I'll say again. I didn't grow up on the internet. I wasn't raised by it. Im not influenced by it. I didn't learn how to communicate or dialogue from the internet, and the internet doesn't shape my real world life. I've lived a real life away from the internet and continue to do so------>so what I speak about here, is about exactly what I say its about, theres no hidden meaning...

But as I've told you in the past. I dont care to argue about what your perception is. How you look at what I post is about who you are, and doesnt affect anything going on over this way. Have a great day, g!

Man I couldn't remember posting that thread until you just mentioned it 🤣 if I did I would have just bumped it. I'm about to go recall it now!

@murksiderock stop moving the goal lol

You said he needed to do it vs a quality opponent. @Regular_P brought up Dallas a team who won the west. Now you saying it’s a bout people remembering the opponent? lol

If Denver doesn’t win the chip nobody will remember this team man
Fair enough 😆 but even in that Dallas series, like I agree he was the best player in that series...............that he couldn't push to 7 as a 1-seed.

That he has no specific, "man he was phenomenal" moment. He was really good, he was best player in that series, but what is that really saying?

We at a point where the accountability bar should be higher than just being the best player in a Rd2 series---->and he's hasn't even been that in this year's Rd2 so far. Im just saying, there's been a LOT of push behind him and the year he's had in the regular season...

Last night he looked like just a guy. You posted his statline earlier but his presence wasn't really felt in any major, impacting way....
