First off I think both are gifted and I actually fw Haney. I think Loma was shook to fight Haney. Between the 4 lightweights, I think Haney is the most skilled lightweight.

Here's the thing though, obviously. These dudes are the Black Paulie's. They have NO power at all. Even guys like Whitaker or Floyd (at 147) who had enough pop to keep fighters honest, these guys don't even have that. Linares for most of the fight was absorbing punch after punch like it was nothing, and I don't gotta go further about why that's terrible given Linares record.

Shakur landed 9.5 punches per round on a full time police officer that is nowhere near top 130. I get that they're both young and learning, but this is going to get worse as they get older.

They're gonna move up in weight and competition and fight guys their size and who are also as talented. If they can't put away trash likes a washed up Linares or some random African police officer, I feel like they are bound to lose soon when they can no longer make 130/135 respectively.

Also I just hate how their super stans are always like "name of the game is hit and don't be hit" and that's true. But guys like Floyd and Whitaker weren't fighting boring fights against trash like them. Floyd during his Pretty Boy days RARELY got clocked and he took a lot of great fighters out, like Corrales, Hatton, Genaro, etc WITHOUT getting hit. Most of Whitaker fights went the distance but he did that against all time greats like Chavez and Azumah nelson, and he pounded them on top of that. Not just landing single digit punches per round, stepping back.

Now let me focus on Shakur instead of Haney because at least Haney now has Gamboa and Linares. Shakur has fought terrible opposition. When the fukk is he gonna step up?

tldr
- play to your strengths
- you can't please everybody
- they still both young
- everybody is entertained by different things
- still growing into power technique
- the criticism they are receiving is actually good; the greats can handle the heat and pressure

Do something like what??

For one Shakur can start letting his hands go. His whole step back or side step and counter with a 1-2 or a jab-hook will get figured out pretty quick by an actual good fighter. I literally don't know if Shakur even has the ability offensively to beat any of the top guys at 130 even Jamel Herring, who is about as reggie as a legit champ comes, will give Shakur boatloads of problems if all I daw out of him his last few fights is what he is capable of.

Maybe he has more in the arsenal than he's allowing to be seen. Against good pressure fighters, of course he'll show better looks and probably results.

Exciting fights sell tickets. If you dont want to excite the audience then dont expect to make major money or sell tickets. IF you put legacy over money there is nothing wrong with that decision just dont be mad that you are fighting on casino boats

Him and Thurman should start a podcast. I'd listen.

Then he needs to show that before I take him serious as a threat. Right now just based off what they have actually shown IN THE RING if you think Shakur beats Tank I got some beachfront property in Omaha, Nebraska to sell you bruh.

I dont need no Nebraska shyt.. im from the westcoast...smart investors go the beach route for the easy Air bnb game for cheap tourists. But beyond that..Shakur can box his ass off so don't expect Tank to be winging shots on him in highlight fashion.

Trying to be exciting will get you knocked out. You better do what you're supposed to do..win. Floyd had to go the route he went because he wanted the #1 spot and they didn't give him those opportunities (Hamed). If Shakur is easy to beat, call him out and beat him. Tank ain't doing that. Teo isn't calling out Tank...lol. Ryan Garcia has got quiet and is again propping Tank up...Haney is ready to fight ANYBODY but no one wants to fight the fukking guy..not Tank, Teo, Loma..none of them.

Completely agree, I’m considering them to be in the lower tier with tank, teo, and loma on the top.

Them not having that power in their first weight class is concerning, at this stage of their career they should be knocking guys out. Just imagine when they move up in weight, it’s just gonna be harder for them.

Haney got hurt by Linares. Tank would KO him. And Nobody isn't trying to fight him because he isn't a big name outside of hard-core boxing fans.
