Because blatantly tanking is subjective and then the commish might as well coach the team himself.

He fined them even as they won one of those games.
Nah fam. What is subjective about sitting your entire healthy starting lineup in the 4th quarter of a winnable games multiple times? Stevie Wonder could see WTF they were doing. Even my Wiz are blatant with it sitting healthy players to "get a look" at G leaguers. Like anything there should be a threshold, but if its clear its being done to manipulate W/Ls fine they ass.

Because the commissioner stepping in to tell teams what lineups to play is a slippery slope

This continues to be Silvers biggest Achilles Heel. Constantly giving amplification to stupid shyt that no other league does. Listening to hot takes on “the ringer” and letting that shyt dictate his leadership.

Do you blame teams? The best way to be good again is losing and drafting high.

At the end of the day it all comes down to $$ and it's a business...

Increase the prize payout for owners and players for the NBA cup and only playoff teams can participate

only it doesnt because the talent pool aint that deep.
Even if it doesnt there no point in forcing players to play for disorganized chaotic franchises that they dont want to play for, only for ESPN to spend the next six yrs debating on how said player can get traded to the Lakers or Knicks.

What's the point of developing players who dont want to play for your franchise? Trading him for future pics?

Plenty of young players would take more money to play in a place like Milwaukee and start compared to riding the bench in LA.

I guarantee u teams will stop this tanking nonsense if u take away the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

All of these ideas Silver is pitching are completely stupid and nonsensical. They keep throwing shyt at the wall. 3 yrs later it will be a new gimmick.

Just get rid of the draft. Problem solved.

but are they good? I cover a team that has 5 rookies, hurt stars and tons of available playing time. Without that main guy it looks horrible.

Might not be the good the first yr, but if a potential star hand picks a city to sign with, hes more likely to enjoy the process and help with recruiting other young stars to join the team.

As it stands right now we got franchises like the kings, hornets and wizards who cant ever get it right. Kings got one conference finals in 40 yrs, hornets never been past the second round and the wizards have a championship from 50 yrs ago no one ever talks about. Irrelevant my entire life.

Getting top lotto picks is no guarantee the drafted players are gonna be any good. These teams just draft anybody with no thought towards culture or even fit sometimes

Is it perfect? No. But tanking will stop and never be a conversation again. Much better than what's being proposed, u think the wizards getting pick #12 every year due to flattened lotto odds is good for them?

If u cant recruit and give players a reason to wanna join your team :manny:
