Shaq: I Agree With What T-Mac Said. Probably Get A Lot Of Flak, But I Always Said Myself, I , I Think I Could've Got 3 In A Row With T-Mac.

This is terrible for your point. For one it’s blind ring counting, but also its proof that a great deal of Kobe’s legacy vs Shaq’s is built on marketing and ‘feel’, bc of course Kobe was far more articulate, PR savvy, sharp, witty, etc than Shaq

5> 4….tf does that even mean when I gave you 3? :heh: As if Shaq couldn’t have crushed the buildings by posting shyt like this ….

36 and 12. Ffs. Yea I would try to erase him from memory too :heh:
They earned those 3 chips together. The whole debate when they broke up was who needed who more and Kobe got two to Shaq’s 1. Like we was all there….Its weird when people rewrite history to fit a narrative.

Let’s not even get into who was a bigger part in getting their chips apart, because Shaq owes Wade a whole lot for the Miami ring…. Meanwhile Kobe was the man on the Lakers.

from 1994-1999 Shaq got swept 4 times and lost one series 4-1

The series he lost 4-1, he got into major foul trouble (foreshadowing of things to come) scored 11 pts in 17 minutes in that win while his rookie teammate Kobe scored 17 4th points to secure the victory.

If not for 18 year old rookie Kobe, Shaq would've got swept out the offs 5 seasons in a row. Bu bu bu bbu bubt Tmac :laff: :laff: :laff: :laff: :laff: :laff:

Yeah people always forget that Shaq was a goofball mentally inspite his physical anbility and Kobe came in with the winning mindset (mamba mentality) and forced teams to choose their poison between the two. The two of them thrived together.

What really defined the two of them is what they did when they we’re no longer playing together.

:pachaha:@ together

Kobe was the most wildly competitive person on the planet, countless teammates who didn’t deserve to be on the court with him, sulking after winning a chip, etc, oh but when he got clear Robin numbers and a teammate flirting with 40 and 15 oh now now we clueless about differentiating the #1 vs #2. Oh now it’s ‘aye let’s stick together’ :russ:

Scroll up and look at their stats for those rings. For the purposes of how we discuss greatness, they did not win those rings “together”. Stop it

As far as 2 to 1, so if Pippen won with the Blazers that year, he’d be better than Jordan? :what: Kobe fans are too clouded by emotion to think logically

nikkas dont wanna do the history.

Let me show you how dialed in Kobe was with Shaq, from the beginning.

I think this might've been Shaq's only buzzer beater in his career. Ironically it was against Utah, in 1997 right before the playoffs.

I timestamped it

as soon as Shaq gets the ball in the post, look at who is the first one to rise off the bench. It's rookie Kobe. Even before Shaq gets the ball, you can see Kobe grab his seat and lift up a little in anticipation because he's been reading the play the whole time. Shaq hits the shot and you see Kobe jumping up and down like a little kid, happy as fukk.

Kobe was meant to play with Shaq, and vice versa. Shaq however was a jealous hoe which is why they couldn't get along, which is also well documented even in one of Phil's book.

Shaq and Kobe didn't get along personally but basketball wise, they were meant to be. To think the Shaq-Kobe partnership could've just been anybody is dumb as fukk. And it sucks to see guys like Shaq get infected by podcast culture and start saying dumb shyt like this.

All this means is that Kobe was the sidekick he needed to help put him over the top like a Pippen/Kyrie.

🎯

It’s the equivalent of saying ‘Jordan didn’t win one without Pippen :troll:

It’s disingenuous, a sign of desperation, and tbh makes folk look kinda dumb, bc it’s basic causation vs correlation

The alpha needing an adequate sidekick to win =/= he needed YOU to win.

On KRS One's nose, eating sunflower seeds.
2000-2004 Kobe averaged more points than TMac 3 of those season, tied with him 1 season, and TMac was 2 points ahead of him for 1 season

All as the 2nd option, while everyone else who was top 10 scoring at the time was the 1st option

But hey, anybody could've done what Kobe did. :unimpressed:
Breh 2000-2004 Kobe scored more than SHAQ!

Kobe- 9,892

Shaq- 8,778

How the sidekick scored more than the “leader” in his PRIME?

They’ll ignore this and act like you didn’t post it.

It’s because that quote alone shuts down a lot of bullshyt people say about Kobe from that time period. Phil ain’t even like Kobe and he’s telling you in real time how he viewed Kobe during that season. Basically telling you yea MJ is the GOAT but Kobe is handling more responsibility and rising to the challenge in the biggest moments as a young player.

And to use the Lebron Stan argument, technically Kobe got to THREE finals without Shaq :manny:

Kobe dominated the hardest conference three years in a row.

Shaq w/o Kobe didn't achieve the same feats.

I'll cut Shaq some slack since he's 6 years older so age wise, he couldn't bang like he used to but pre-2000 when Shaq was young and fit, that 1996 to 1999 period when Kobe was a benchplayer/not ready, Shaq should've been dominating the West like Kobe did in 08, 09 and 10 but he didn't :manny:

I wished Shaq was willing to let Kobe take over, and I wish Kobe wasn't so focused on proving it was his team.

Now that's something that could be a movie because I know it was drama 24/7 in that locker room :lolbron:

Had Shaq stayed in LA, they would've been sued for tampering/corruption :lolbron: because LA would've won at least twice in that 2005, 2006, and 2007 period and once we finessed Pau Gasol from Memphis, we would've gotten 09 and 10 too :lolbron:
