Ok no switching then? And on the other end getting buckets in the paint on every possession? Who gonna guard Shaq :mjlol:

It’s not about “balling out” or his individual numbers but his team impact and ability to win championships in this era.
Titles would come too as long as he had the team around him to compete

The thinking is completely different too

being a bigger stronger more physical center was needed then

obviously it is the other way now
Exactly

Shaq deliberately put on that size because center's back then like Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson, Mutombo, Sabonis, Smiths, etc. Were big and strong.

If he played today he wouldn't need to

No. The point is if Jokic can stay on the court defensively no reason Shaq couldn’t
I already talked about this pages ago you dudes don’t know how to evaluate defense.

Jokic has his limitations on defense but is an underrated defender who knows how to drop back on P&R coverages and has great hands to deflect passes and strip guys in the low post (he averages 1.5 steals a game) and is a strong defensive rebounder. His goofy ass also will at least run out with his arms up to stretch bigs.

He does have limitations switching and as a rim protector and can be exploited in certain matchups and that might be a crutch for him winning a championship and that’s the point of the thread. How Shaq would fare in playoff series being P&R’d repeatedly and how his impact would translate.
