THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN BEAT TO DEATH, BUT ITS BEEN PROVEN THAT KOBE CARRIED THE LAKERS IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE PLAYOFFS, WHILE SHAQ FEASTED ON THE WEAKER EASTERN CONFERENCE TEAMS DURING THE FINALS

ONLY A RETARD CALLS THIS "ROBIN" STATUS
He was GREAT but did he will them to the Finals like Shaq in 95? Come on...you got to be real here.
the phantom foul,....
stopped him from doing what Shaq got.to do.with Orlando.
Art Barr
True but the difference is Kareem would:
1. Get in foul trouble
2. Basically let Shaq score
Shaq couldn't guard Kareem but he would have a much better chance of slowing Kareem down then vice versa. How could any argue against that
yeah, lets ignore that they would have had to also beat the Pacers in the ECF

WHOAAAA WHOOOAA!!! WHOOOAAA!!!
This "thecoli" the place where we constantly hate on everything Bron does and NEVER give him his just due credit!!
Sorry, I'm not prepared to give Kobe props for something Bron (& a few other Coli hates cats) been doing but can seem to get no love for cuz the common rhetoric be "who gives a fukk"?
, just
Wilt and Kareem have more points
Wilt, Kareem, Russell, and Olajuwon have more boards
Hakeem, Kareem, David Robinson, and Patrick Ewing have more blocks
Russell and Kareem have more rings.
So where does Shaq fit into this picture?![]()
Well, seeing as you often have to adjust stats for era... counting stats for early centers don't really move me.
The argument is, who - at their best - was the best or most dominant player... And I think any sane basketball fan should be willing to say that a Prime Shaq is on part with Prime Wilt and Kareem, and certainly more dominant that David Robinson or Bill Russell. Bill Rusell was 6'9, 210 pounds. That's small forward size.
Shaq can't hit an 18' jumpshot and you saying he is on par with the #1 scorer ever and the man who scored 100 points in one game, negged for stupidity and lack of knowledge, and the appeal to majority fallacy. Big Ben was 6'9" 240 and owned Shaq in the finals
@ you popping off at the lip, to an adult.
I actually think Shaq's career was a disappointment, and that his lack of defensive impact is embarrassing considering his rare gifts. He's not my GOAT by any means. I was responding to somebody... like yourself... who looks at counting stats from bygone eras and compares them to today's, as if the eras are the same. When everything from pace to the basic level of talent were wildly different.
I personally think Wilt would be dominant in any era. But I know he wouldn't be able to score 100 point today, for example.
And as far as 6'9/240 Ben Wallace "owning" shaq in the finals... you're talking about a finals where Shaq averaged 28 and 11 on like 65% shooting.Study up.
You're like a child walking into a movie theater 45 minutes in... you have no context. I was responding to somebody trying to brush aside Shaq's dominance, rather than evaluate it and opt to choose somebody else. I don't think Shaq is the greatest center of all time...
But if you are picking a center at his PEAK, he has as good a claim as anyone. And who wants their fukking center (if I'm asking for the greatest ever) shooting 18 footers.
Go play 2k, kiddo.
