I don’t think you understand the concept of managing a escalating situation so let’s start from the beginning:

An employee is fired. They never left the premise and they simply want their belongings so that they can leave and go home. The employee is become more agitated and violent.

The correct course of action is to call police/security. Evaluate what the person wants. If it’s reasonable (like their own property), give it to them. Then, wait for police to arrive.

The incorrect course of action is to directly confront the employee and/or refuse reasonable request. You risk the former employee damaging company property and most importantly you risk harm to everyone around including employees and customers.

If she would have for instance injured a customer from throwing objects like chairs, the company would have been sued for failing to de-escalate the entire situation. Nowhere in this situation does trespassing have any relevance.

This shyt is common sense at this point

Clowns talking about “the law”… you can’t hold her shyt after you told her to leave the premises

Smartest thing would’ve been to get her belongings and give it to her so she wouldn’t have any excuse to go ape shyt. But pushing her, slamming her on the ground, holding on to her belongings for whatever reason, was an escalation of the situation.

I seen a dude get fired IRL.. they didn’t put their hands on him, allowed him to get his shyt (phone was locked up) and escorted him out. He was pissed when they asked for the badge and he said no, you’re not getting it. That was it. Didn’t force anything away from him and we all went on with our day/job.

I think people enjoyed watching all that happen.

You allow someone behind the counter when is clear that they’re willing to resort to violence to get what’s behind the counter. If they’re trying to harm a person then it’s basic self-defense.

The girl wasn’t concerned with the workers, she just wanted her stuff. However, if she did want to confront another employee, then it is appropriate to have the other employee somewhere in the back where they are separated. Once she said give me my stuff. Give her her stuff. The point is to do whatever is reasonable possible to de-escalate the situation.

Most importantly before anything call police/security. They never even did that. There were at least 3 other employees. The manager should have directed one of them to call the police/security.
