23 and counting pages of debating of 1st team snaps and barely a single breakdown of his actual play and merits of his passes, decision making and play :russ: some folks are interested in creating in narrative than analyzing actual football but I didnt expect anything else out of such a polarizing player

Ive watched every play, he got a couple of effective scrambles, had one great backshoulder throw, one solid intermediate throw to a wide open guy.
definitely held onto the ball too long which was the story in college, and ran backwards and took sacks that some couldve been thrown away. which is again consistent with his college profile

Baltimore brought a lot of people on LoS and blitzed a lot. Lots of five, six man fronts. He needs to be more aware of blitz and hot reads. Thats what a lot of teams do now to QBs who are thrown into the fire. Used to be teams defenses played pretty vanilla with a new QB, but nowadays they wanna force the hand and force some mistakes.
This is what I saw as well.

All I’m saying is this: Stefanski has won Coach of the Year twice in the last five years. The guy can coach, and when he’s had even a competent QB, he’s proven he can get a team to the playoffs.

The idea that he’d tank a seven-figure a year job and his entire reputation just to “sabotage” a 5th-round pick is wild. That’s tinfoil-hat stuff. Could his read on Dillon vs. Shedeur be wrong? Sure—coaches miss evaluations all the time.

But no NFL head coach is intentionally sabotaging a potential franchise QB. Those guys are like the holy grail in this league.

Shedeur’s gonna get his shot. We’ll find out soon enough whether he’s the guy or not.

Most sensible post in this crazy azz thread.

Well, hes only a 5th round pick because there was a league wide decree to not take him till the 5th round. He actually should have went over Dart and top 5 overall

Is that why Shaduer turned down the ravens when they were going to draft him?

:jbhmm:

Or was the collusion agreement only with the teams that needed a starting qb?

Browns showing why they're the Browns. It makes total sense now why they've sucked ass since I was in 5th grade :mjlol:

Whats more likely. they're both rookies so they gave the qb1 the qb1 reps, or the coach conspired to self sabotage himself by playing the inferior quarterback and fukking off his position as a 1/32 top dog in the league.

To...teach Shadeur a lesson? spite him? I just fail to understand why the coach would willfully try to lose games by not playing his best option at qb.

I've been following the Browns media closely for months, second to my Philly squad, and Stefanski absolutely would do this. The cac spent weeks refusing to say Shedeur's name in interviews. Doug Peterson never acted that bytch made about Carson Wentz & Nick Foles. If you can't even say a nikka name, you don't like them. From what I gathered, the GM Andrew Berry wanted Shedeur, Stefanski didn't. Stefanski was adamant about Gabriel being the guy. So, yes, he would sabotage Shedeur. They're losing, and Gabriel looks super trash. You're not keeping your job, losing almost 10 games, and telling your boss to pick the worst quarterback in the draft. If Shedeur goes out there looking good, Haslam is calling him into his office the next day and asking WTF he was thinking.

Dillon = Faster at getting the ball out. Very limited physically. Will not make big throws. Gets exposed everytime he tries, so he sticks to short yard plays.
Shedeur = Higher ceiling. Has potential in terms of his arm and ball placement. Can scramble. Prone to making more mistakes compared to Dillion.

Basically, you have one kid who is too small and plays too scared to be effective, and another kid who shows flashes but is very reckless with his play.

Stefanki probably thinks it's easier to get Dillion comfortable with taking deep shots than it is to make Sheduer more polished/less reckless.

Mary Cay Cabot from the Plain Dealer has been pretty much saying Stefanski is acting weird about Shedeur. She been saying for over a month that Shedeur been balling with the scout team and wowing his teammates.

She said today they should've played Zappe on Sunday since he had experience, and then let Sheduer debut with a full practice week.

He played badly against the Ravens, but he also showed flashes. I can't put it into words, but you could see that with training, he could start on a team. I'm not surprised that people are saying that. Some of his throws and movements look legit.

Dillon has never made me say that. Now, maybe in the future, Dillon will be good, but right now, Shedeur looks like he has more potential.

If Sheduer stinks it up vs. Oakland, then I'll shut up :yeshrug:

Ravens D is really good and the Browns run game died second half of the game. EVERY 3rd down snap was 8 yards or more to gain and the ravens blitzed relentlessly. No QB in their first NFL action is gonna be able to handle that. It would/should have been the Browns coaching to come up with something to deal with that defense.

The Yay
I already posted Chase Daniels breakdown and he showed y'all that his teammates did him no favors. On the INT the WR didn't even run his route properly. And the oline is trash.
my point is people are more interested in debating who needs to take the blame and not actually analyzing his plays from the football play angle ... like ive said, 25 pages by now and very little football analysis and a lot of pointless debate on how reps in practice work

anyway, continue. Im a neutral observer here. there are a lot of shedeur stans and haters so Ima
