I don't think that shyt is intentional though. Hip hop is a young mans game because the main consumers are high school aged, like 12-17. It's hard for young kids like that to identify with an old man.

Some of these kids, music is all they got. No responsibilities, nothing, so they whole life revolves around artists or videogames or whatever. The music execs just pander to them cause they know the parents gonna put up the bread.

That along with the fact a lot don't make it easy on themselves when they have one topic or style they rap about.

50 my dude but I'll be dammed if he didn't hurt himself by not letting his music grow as he did. I would think as an artist gets older family life etc would come into they music.
Imagine a top 5 artist rapping bout tax/stocks/realty etc ....the impact would be huge.

At this point tho a lot of our people rapping are conditioned to rap about certain topics.

No there isn't an age limit in rap. Rappers are some of the most immature individuals on earth. Hip hop artists don't grow and their music doesn't reflect their level of maturity as it should like other genres. Which is one reason why I really enjoyed Nas Life Is Good. He was on his grown man likes many of us fans are. Sorry that Sheek is still rapping about being about being a silver back guerilla slinging packs that's on him

Its definitely intentional, and by "they" who does Sheek mean, other than rappers when they are young:mjlol:? Rappers stay talkin shyt about old washed up nikkas who lost it while they young and in they prime....Then once they turn :flabbynsick:,they wanna sit around talkin about "Bu bu but other genres don't put age limits on,lets not do it in hiphop yall:whoa:?"

Get ya old azz outta here with that, you gotta take it like a man:mjcry:...You can either continue trying to be cool to young kids and fail like majority of them do?Or continue to put out quality catalogues that your fanbase can grow with?which quite frankly if you are consistent in quality and have classics you will be able to eat of hiphop when your old...But no young kids are not obligated to like you,and old fans aren't obligated to pretend you aint fall the fukk off,and theres new, more talented and hungrier replacements:banderas:.

Yall all acknowledge rap is competeitve, well compete then.

Listen to 95% of the content of rap music that's on the radio and in the clubs, it's young shyt. Sex crazed, party drug laden, fast life promoting childish shyt. Naturaly, it feels awkward to see a 40+ year old man partaking in the same activities as 20 year olds musically. Maybe, just maybe, if Sheek Louch and others like him expanded their mental horizons and embraced their ages instead of rapping about senselessly killing 100 nikkas every song and the club, then they'd attract an audience that doesnt like the young shyt and doesnt like to suffer fools and wants to hear another perspective. Rap is only a young man's sport if youre an old nikka trying to placate the youngstas, shyt won't work, you remind them of their dad. People put rap music in an imaginary box, like it HAS to be ignorant and childish and self-destructive, no it doesn't man, not everybody wants that, that's why Kendrick got a million grammy noms and mc such and such got none
