what would you recommend if you're about to hit an immovable object head on at low speed :skip:

For a novice rider? Clutch THEN brake. Clutch first is more important than brake first. Anybody who knows how powerful motorcycle brakes are will tell you to clutch. When a beginner panics 9 times outta 10 they'll grab too much brake. A beginner motorcycle will send you over the handle bars and that's when you panic even more grabbing more brake while accidently throttle. That's why the woman in the op was bucking. She was grabbing brake while throttling. Had she held down the clutch the bike wouldn't have kept accelerating.

My motorcycle instructors were in their 60s still riding, so I'm taking their advice and it makes sense when I was in the parking lot.

Watch the video 3 more times

Ask yourself: "If she clutched would the motorcycle have kept accelerating?" :unimpressed:

She kept accelerating faster and faster. Had she clutched her crashing wouldn't have been the outcome. I guarantee dude told her what the brake was and she panicked, tried to brake but twisted the throttle more

My instructors told us if we felt like we were getting out of control engage the clutch.

I don’t keep up with Yamaha so I didn’t know they dropped a twin cylinder baby r6 for only $5500 :ehh:

They probably can’t build them shyts fast enough. Last time I was riding the ninja 250 styling had just changed to make it look not retarded since all the twin cylinder beginner bikes looked like dog shyt :heh:

I know what a clutch is. if she squeezed the clutch she still would have hit the car. I'm not sure you understand what a clutch actually does; which is weird cause you say you Ryde.

You continue moving forward when the clutch is engaged...she still would have collided with a parked car based off your advice...listen man I've been ryding for 2 decades go ahead tho

Oddly enough almost died riding mx last week.

Zeke is right tho. Always clutch first then brake. Where he is incorrect is that this is a piece of shyt r3 with indian components. This shyt takes a minute to stop. No brembos on this thing. His point still stands however

It is crazy to hop on a bike and not realize that if you just stop twisting the throttle the bike will decelerate and eventually stop. Yes brakes will stop the bike, but laying off the gas pedal would help a whole lot too.

:mjlol:
Logically yeah but panic is a muthafukka. All reason goes out of the window with some people and they freeze or apply action to the wrong thing lol. The same kind of people will drive through gas stations, storefronts, or into other vehicles when they continue to press the gas instead of their car’s brake pedal lol.

I know nothing about riding motorcycles but I would assume the very first thing I would learn is the breaks.

You’d think that but it’s the exact opposite. Was on a trip to Indonesia with a couple of friends and one was this quiet Vietnamese chick. I come up with the idea to rent mopeds so we can check out the monkey park. The next day the rental is dropping off the bikes and showing how to ride, and I remember vividly to this day that dude said, “They may be small but they have one hell of a throttle”. He wasn’t lying barely pulling back that shyt took off like a perfect start in Mario kart.

We all get the hang of it and the viet girl comes out after the rental crew was wrapping up. I told her they about to bail but I can show you how to drive it. She says I’m fine and jumps on. BRUH she took off at max speed crossing a street, jumping a ditch, and going into a brick wall HEAD FUKKIN FIRST. :russ:

The way she landed looked like something out of Hot Rod. She gets up saying I’m fine I’m fine, but that moped ain’t so she has to ride with one of us the entire time.

2 weeks later I see she’s in a sling and she tells us she fractured her collarbone.

The only reason she hit the car was because she kept accelerating.

Let's say you told her to brake, she would've grabbed way too much and crashed or accidentally twisted the throttle. You've been riding 2 decades, do you honestly believe a complete novice will know how to properly brake on a motorcycle??

Simply Clutching doesn't take technique, braking does. Them brakes will throw you over the handle bars or if the bike ain't straight, you skid and slide.

breh just stop....she was in low RPMS in first gear on a 300. you can squeeze 100% on the front break and that heifer aint even lifting up the rear tire and inch.

I've been ryding 2 decades and I can't properly break compared 2 a lot of people......I dont even understand what you're trying 2 get at.

clutch work, just like breaking takes a LOT of technique. I don't care if you're beginner, novice, advanced, or expert. that broad was beginner beginner. nowhere near novice.
