For a novice rider? Clutch THEN brake. Clutch first is more important than brake first. Anybody who knows how powerful motorcycle brakes are will tell you to clutch. When a beginner panics 9 times outta 10 they'll grab too much brake. A beginner motorcycle will send you over the handle bars and that's when you panic even more grabbing more brake while accidently throttle. That's why the woman in the op was bucking. She was grabbing brake while throttling. Had she held down the clutch the bike wouldn't have kept accelerating.
My motorcycle instructors were in their 60s still riding, so I'm taking their advice and it makes sense when I was in the parking lot.
