breh just stop....she was in low RPMS in first gear on a 300. you can squeeze 100% on the front break and that heifer aint even lifting up the rear tire and inch.

I've been ryding 2 decades and I can't properly break compared 2 a lot of people......I dont even understand what you're trying 2 get at.

clutch work, just like breaking takes a LOT of technique. I don't care if you're beginner, novice, advanced, or expert. that broad was beginner beginner. nowhere near novice.

You've been riding so the g forces ain't ish to you. But to beginners them forces are a lot where if they grab the brakes they will lunge forward. And we're talking about a baby 300. I'm telling you this because that's what it felt like to me in my course. I had to learn to be gentle and stop myself from sudden braking.

Panic and grabbing a handful of brake she would've crashed.

Had she clutched she wouldn't have accelerated and if she did crash, it would've be way less harsh. I think we can both agree to that.

what would you recommend if you're about to hit an immovable object head on at low speed :skip:

For a novice rider? Clutch THEN brake. Clutch first is more important than brake first. Anybody who knows how powerful motorcycle brakes are will tell you to clutch. When a beginner panics 9 times outta 10 they'll grab too much brake. A beginner motorcycle will send you over the handle bars and that's when you panic even more grabbing more brake while accidently throttle. That's why the woman in the op was bucking. She was grabbing brake while throttling. Had she held down the clutch the bike wouldn't have kept accelerating.

My motorcycle instructors were in their 60s still riding, so I'm taking their advice and it makes sense when I was in the parking lot.

You’re both right, I just think there’s a misunderstanding.

Yes the squeezing the clutch kills the power to the engine so she can’t continue to accelerate even as she’s adding throttle while trying to hang on.

Adding brake afterwards would have stopped her from moving forward.

I think the biggest problem is her inability to keep a cool head and her fear of falling over/dropping the bike.

No. it disengages the engine. thats it. the breaks are what stop you from accelerating forward. who are you people :russ:

Yeah, that's what you want. So when she twists the throttle the engine just revs instead of lurching forward.

I wouldn't trust a complete novice to brake right

:mjlol:
Now I’m miswording shyt. I know it doesn’t literally kill the power literally, my fault. The book answer would have been clutch in, both brakes and foot down as you stop lol.

An experienced, or less panicked person would just lean the damn bike a little bit, added a little throttle, and went about their day.

I remember I tried to learn how to ride on my uncles Hayabusa. I wanted to stunt like I was DMX on that bytch.

My experience was similar to that woman’s. I never got on a bike again after that.

If I was on tarmac sure and the entry is appropriate.

I was on dirt...when I just recently at shyt. Dirt bike is 99 percent front brake. Rear brake only when going deep into a 90 or 180 turn. On dirt you try to go straight line as possible especially after acceleration and breaking bumps form

I was gonna say 250/300

But I really wanna say a 650. You'll get bored on a 300, but not a 650.

That's a 300cc. Them bikes ain't powerful at all, they damn near scooters. Top speed is barely over 100mph. That's why they're always suggested to beginners. Had she been on a 600 or 1000 b would've been deader than evil knieval.
I take back what I said about it being too big for her, had it confused with the bigger size sportbikes out there.

Cruiser style for me, although a Diavel would be really nice (been riding for +10 years, learned that brake thing the hard way, highside is no joke).

Good thing about MSF is that your insurance will be a little lower in price. Glad I did it
